I wire brush mine. Sand paint off...if needed. Decrease and then soak it down with the acid. .rinse and paint...take spindles out and pack in fresh grease. .!!!!

@29Turf ospho phosphoric acid or the POR rust solvent solution...I have even used an old chisel and scrape loose stuff off.. heck ,I have even sanded finished the POR and coat with rust bullet

@29Turf Decent product...POR is harder...smoother...they are both epoxy based...uses the moisture in the air to dry.

@29Turf for a time it does, they use to heat metal up and apply wax as it cooled , lost art of iron smith's, baked the wax into the metal! I think thats how z Bart use coat inside cars as well! Prolongs it is all. Good luck!
