Too bad about losing the fish. At least you had a couple nice fights. Good lessons. I haven't tried for salmon yet but good to know what I need to use to catch them. 👍

Husband another amazing video and you do you tie knots wonderful just because you didn’t do it this time other have no ideas of your techniques and the fish got off don’t worry about it you’re an excellent fisherman and a amazing lure maker I’m very proud of you! Plus you don’t even have to post videos of losing fish so I’m proud of you that you do that to show the truth about how fishing is either going to get your fish or sometimes not❤️😍 oh and I also want to thank Melvin for letting us fish on his property he is a very wonderful person very kind❤️

Just subbed. Good content. Yesterday had to be my best day for me. Had a total of 18 bobber downs and limited out. Caught 2 hatchery coho one buck one hen and a hatchery steelie. Was a good day.

I like running light flouro to braid as well. I was using 12 lb and it’s strong enough if you really play the fish, but then you give more time for the fish to spit the hook. Only issue with light lines like 12 although they’re strong if it’s fresh line, they fray and take nicks a lot easier than a 15 or 20. I fish a hole that has some jagged rocks and I have to cut some leader every few cast because of fray. I’m currently running 20 lb p like flourocarbon and I lost a fish due to the fray the first time I tried it. The line is strong to horse in the fish, but fray will mess you up no matter the lb.
@northforklures2754 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. But in winter when water clarity is murky I say go heavier than 12. lol
@AZ-gs6hj4 жыл бұрын
@@northforklures275 For sure. There is no point in going too light. Use the heaviest you can get away with. Too heavy and the line becomes too stiff. 15/20 flourocarbon is the most I use. 20 for rocky sections. 15 minimum for fall fish.

It’s a bad feeling when a line snaps. I remember catching a king fly fishing and it had a Mepps spinner in its back and a egg sack in the corner of its mouth .
@northforklures2754 жыл бұрын
That’s one strong fish!!

Your line didn't break because of the size of it. 12lb flouro for coho is sufficient. You said it yourself, the knot broke. I tie a double uni to braid and don't have any issues. I've caught Chinook on 10 lb line. Don't take this wrong, but learn to tie better knots. Good job on your spinners, I will be picking some up soon. Thanks for the videos!
@northforklures2754 жыл бұрын
Yep for sure! I agree, but if it’s muddy murky water why not? 😂 anyways that is the knot I tied but I don’t think I wrapped it enough times. This is the first time I have actually lost a fish due to poor knot, but it hurts so bad when it happens. Thanks again for watching, my website is www.northforklures.com that chartreuse spinner will be on it in a hour or so.
