I started tracking the temperature for 2024. I have decided on the colors for each temp group. The pattern I am still looking for ideas. I thought about flying geese. High on the left side and low on right and the weather condition, snow, rain, hot, etc in the middle. Not sure if that idea is going to work. This tutorial has already prove helpful in my progress of my first temperature quilt. Thanks for the help.

Hello Jayne, thank you for this and part two video, I am now hooked and will be stating to collect data for my Temperature quilt in 1st Sept 2023 and will complete end August 2024. I am new to this craft and have a question about fabric. How do you calculate how much fabric you will need for each range? So if you did 2 1/3 inch squares and one of your ranges occurs 100 times how much fabric would that be? Should I purchase these in fat quarters or purchase off the roll of fabric that you would need to have cut? Thank you.

The size of the fabric cut really depends on the range of temperatures you choose. The smaller the range (1 to 3 degree increments), the more variety of fabrics you'll need but smaller cuts of each. The larger the range (5 to 10 degree increments), the less variety of fabrics you'd need but larger cuts of each. Hope that helps! The video answered how to calculate the number of pieces that will fit in a given fabric cut is coming very soon!

I downloaded your EPP snowflake pattern. You say you needed 469 hexagon templates. So I look at the pattern but you don’t break it down to how many light blue hexagons I need and how many dark purple hexagons I need. You need to specify each one. Your instructions are not very clear. And why are you putting them on the wrong side of the fabric. Very confusing.

That info is on page 3 of the pattern. In EPP, the templates are always put on the wrong side of the fabric.
