Hi, I have been looking at getting a resin 3d printer. Because of the number of options out there now, I figured I should just decide on which one I will get and see what software it uses and just research on what is relevant to that. I found your video a great help. Downloaded Chitubox and a free model so I had something to play with while following your video. Found it brilliant, no rubbish, just straight to it useful information. Thanks a lot.

You handle the basics for an idiot like me. I also plan on printing minis only, which makes me feel better about things. I know these videos take time and effort and often goes underappreciated. I, for one, really do appreciate you making these videos for shlubs like me. It really does make it less intimidating as the editing part seems the worst.

You're awesome and are helping me no end but I have some advice to give back. You said in one of your videos you can't flip a mini with supports along an axis (for making left/right handed minis etc) in Chitubox. You can. Once you've printed one out and the supports are looking good. Save the file as a .stl with the supports in place. Then you can flip along the axis :) Hope this nugget of help gets to you :D Once again - you're awesome

Just leaving this here for if anyone encounters the same issue. If there's a small gap in your model where there is nothing for that entire layer, or for a couple layers. Island detection does not see it as an unsupported island so it doesn't give you an error. Basically, if it's a big model, make sure to scroll through the layers to avoid an expensive fail.

Love the videos...they have really helped me get some good print. But I'm curious what resin are you using? I ask because with one resin, I'm not getting as much resolution in my prints, so when I swapped to another...the resolution is better, but the recommendation of the .02 MM connection diameter was way too thin. (Basically ended up printing just the supports and had to dial up to .15)

I think it just indicates the "front" (which is what you get when you click the front view shortcut button in the top right).

That’s what I thought but mine is in the left side of the plate and that’s the small X distance so the arrow on mine is on left side like in Greg’s vid

Hello friend! I really aprecciate your videos, I've been watching, you have good advice. I made my first 3d print with phrozen, it started wonderfully but then it was a disaster, the resin began to peel off the base on one side (it was set in chitubox autosupports tilting everything, "+ all button") It began to bend and I had to stop the impression so as not to lose resin since with more weight it could take off completely. I wanted to ask you that advice, how do you make sure you avoid this problem? Is it a bad idea to use a flat base before the supports? Another thing, when I use chitubox, the calculation of supports takes a long time, I see in your videos, that these appear in a very short time. Phrozen Transform Profile by the way is (from user manual): Resolution: x: 3840px y: 2160px Size: x: 288mm y: 162mm z: 400mm Layer: Height 0.05 mm How much resin do you use at first time?, manual says not to fill more 1/2 of the tank, but when you think that will be not enough, should pause o fill on the fly??? thanks, thera are lot of question, hope you can help me, sorry about my english hope you could understand.

Why does my ChituBox change vertical scale of prints in a non-linear way (each next layer thinner)? It happens with flat objects, not with tall ones. When slicing the model, everything is OK.

Hi mate, I saw some people using meshmixer to generate support, then using the Chitubox for printing. From your experience, does Meshmixer generate a decent support? I like spending 1 hours of supporting a model rather than 30 minutes of sanding it.

Hello, I have watched your Totorials and have bought a shiny Anycubic Photon. I test print printed the cube but one of the banners inside failed. Then I tried a mini print which completely failed 2 times and I have just reprinted the test print... which completely failed, and wondered if you had any advise?
@nickrobinson77025 жыл бұрын
Hi Scot. The main reason prints fail with AnyCubic Photon's is that the build plate is not levelled correctly. The instructions with the Photon suck and do not work. I ended up with puddles of cured resin the resin tray the first few prints, pain in the proverbial to remove until I found adding filling the resin tray with isopropyl alcohol worked a treat to get them out. Anyway, you need to first level the build plate then home it. Two steps, not one. The first step you bring the build plate to home, raise a few millimetres, loosen the platform grub screw (to allow rotation), then side in a sheet of paper, lower and then use the 0.1mm adjustments to get the paper so that you can pull it out but if you push it, it scrunches up. Once happy, put one hand spread across the build plate, square it up and tighten the grub screw whilst pressing down firmly on the build plate. Your plate should now be level. Now raise the platform again, slide in the paper and then lower it back down, adjusting using 0.1mm increments until the paper can be pulled out but not pushed in. Back out and hit the Z=0 icon to set your Z home. Good luck!
