Great show Dominique, love it!! Just one comment - it is VERY useful to plot the 'objective quantity' in the 3D space (x,y,z) to visualize its behavior. In your hamburger case it would read: Q (x,y) = .33x +.21y (Q is also called the target function). (*_*)

this maybe obvious but you should state that these problems also utilizes non-negativity constraints. x >=0 y>=0, which usually uses the 1st quadrant.

Hello Dominique, thanks for making this video. I am still having problems with the definition of the problems. I have the following and I was wondering if you could please help me set it up. A candy company has 138 kg of chocolate-covered nuts and 90 kg of chocolate covered raisins to be sold as two different mixes. One mix will contain half nuts and half raisins and will sale for $7 per kg. The other mix will contain (3/4) nuts and (1/4) raisins and will sell for $9.50 per kg. How many kilograms of each mix should the company prepare for a maximum revenue? Find the maximum revenue.

Where did she get the 3y=12?
@endalkfilfilworku7634
@endalkfilfilworku7634 5 жыл бұрын
by solving the two equation 3x+6y =60 x+y =16 Simultaneously to do this keeping the first equation as it is and multiply the second one by minus 3, means -3(x+y=16), so it will give you -3x+-3y=48, then equate this with the first equation to solve for x and y as follow 3x+6y=60 -3x-3y=48, so 3x will be deleted by -3x and (6y_3y)=3y and 60-48=12, so 3y=12 divide both side by 3 the value for y will be 4.and to solve for x substitute the value of y means 4 in one of the equation and you will get x=12
