Nice video mate, congratulations. Just got this model from Aldi in Australia for 29 AUD, but the box is a little bit small. What is a strange is that the model came without instrument decals... Anyway, this will be my first model to build, so your video will be a nice guideline to me. Cheers.

I first built this as the standard GT350 around 1993. Lovely kit to build, and I now have this very same model in my stash and looking forward to building it again.

Looking good Dan. I have one built in black. Have four more to do the other colors that were available to rent. Stay safe.🍻🌲

Thank you for a really great video. I have this kit, or rather the much older Monogram version and, as on your's, the valances were just as bad, like they were for a completely model. The rest of the kit builds up rather nicely and I enjoyed making it. I appreciate the effort you put into this. Cheers!

It's the one area that really let's some Revell/Monogram kits down. Thanks for watching 👍

Most of the modelers I follow cant Successfully place the decals on the hood. They paint them on. Nice job on your mustang. I have the U.S version Its missing the dash decals. Actually its a different set all together. This might be why the hood decals won't form to the hood scoop. I'm in the process of completing this same kit only it the us version. Thanks for an excellent video.

Thank you, the European Revell kits use decals from 2 Italian companies and are actually a really strong point of their kits these days.

It's not the best kit but it really is a good shaped Mustang so worth the effort.

I may have to get one of those nail drills.
@TheDanCave3 жыл бұрын
I had it for ages and didn't use it as it hasn't got a proper chuck, just a push fit collet. I tried the shanked microbox drill. Nuts and they fit perfectly. Very handy now.

This is a very old mold and the kit's always been known as a bit dodgy in terms of fit when it comes to the front and rear valances. But Revell's taken this mold and run with it for for pretty much every classic Mustang type from that era known to man. I have two of these kits still in the box and built another one several years ago. Grew up in Detroit, with plenty of family members that worked the assembly lines at the Big 3 factories. Believe me, the fit and finish on the production line cars were about as good as the fit and finish on this mold. ;-)
@TheDanCave2 жыл бұрын
It's good to know Revell were authentic with the fitting then, even it's by accident.

Great build, those decals round number plate, I had so much trouble with them, but then this was only my second build getting back into hobby. Where did you get that circle cutter you used Dan?
@TheDanCave3 жыл бұрын
Circle cutter is one from Amazon, fairly cheap, not great for small circles.

Dan, in the 60s when Hertz rented these cars out, some less than honest hirers would swap out the 350 motor for a std V8 and then hand them back to Hertz............fun fact

Nice way to get yourself a 350 cheap.

hello, I really liked this model because of the spark plug wires, what is the number of the difficulty level of this kit? because I want to buy one of the same model thank you
@TheDanCave2 жыл бұрын
Hi Thiago, thanks for watching, I can't remember, its not a difficult kit, just old.
@thiagolucas40882 жыл бұрын
@@TheDanCave Thank you for your attention, I asked about the level of difficulty, because it is difficult here in Brazil to know which model of the Mustang kit has a hole to place a spark plug wire, there are many models like this one but it doesn't have the holes to place the wires
@TheDanCave2 жыл бұрын
This is an old Monogram kit, and I think I had to drill the holes for plugs and distributor

Interesting bit of trivia about the GT350H: During the time that Hertz rented the Shelby Mustang, many of them had their Shelby tuned 289CJ engine removed by customers, replaced with V6 engines and returned! They were also notoriously abused, being returned wrecked and broken after being flogged on a dragstrip all weekend!
@TheDanCave Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dayton. I think Jay Leno mentioned that on one of his YT videos also.

I'm surprised you don't mark the seam lines with a black Sharpie or something. Once you sand the Sharpie away, the seam lines should be gone too.
@TheDanCave Жыл бұрын
I generally prefer not to. Sometimes I do though.

The decals are tricky, but patience and decal solutions will get you there.
