Just a suggestion for an impromptu jig for that roll cage assembly process. I use poster tac from Loctite, it will allow you to align and stick components together until cement sets. It's sticky, pliable and reusable. It also works as a paint mask in a pinch, and will easily stick small parts to cocktail sticks and popsicle (craft) sticks for painting..

That Blue tack stuff from Loctite has so many uses it's crazy. I use the stuff to stick tank road wheels to tooth picks for ease of painting. And I've seen people use it for masking, camo schemes, etc. Great tip!

Good tip but as you can see im pretty well practised in getting these together now, been using white tack (oil free) with sticks etc for years and in all my videos too - Paul :)

Super job !!! I had a model 1: 1 :-))) version VII. But the most beautiful was Mk.V. Production since 1990 year. This Escort V model is also a model at Tamiya. I think I'll build it on the memory of my 1.6 16V ford escort. Thanks for the inspiration. Edward, Czech Republic.

I'm just about to start building the interior of my Cossie Paul - and it's done to a similar idea to yours, it's one of my 'Euromillions win dream garage' cars' Like you always been a mahoosive Ford fan, rallied a few Mk 1 & 2 Escorts and missed out on buying any more (or a Cossie) before prices went stupid! So will also have to make do with little ones instead! Mine's bright orange and intended to be for Irish closed road stage rallies! Test drove a 3 door RS500 Sierra once - what a monster!

Nice color indeed!!! Just a quick observation. You did wet your workbench before spraying the first gloss coat. On the second coat, the paper started to get dry and on the third coat, everything was dry again. Maybe you could wet the paper between the coats just to make sure that there will be no dust!!! Just a thought. That will be a nice build. Happy to see a custom build.

my mate had a 2 door Ford Escort GTI in DARK Grey he's finally selling it! it was one them cars from back in the day we cruised about in as car dicks lol sure it was the same floorpan as the cosworth ut was interchangeable bumpers etc but had the rear bubble light's they done I remember he was fitting cozzie parts to it but he kept everything in his parents garage that came off it so it's all been put back to standard part's I actually liked it better with the original bumpers n skirts just glad he never went all the way and drilled into the boot for a whale tale but we weren't one them that would stick a badge in a car that wasn't what it was under the bonnet!

I built the original Tamiya kit of this one way back in the mid 90s, fantastic cars, I worked in a Ford RS dealer down here in Cornwall at the time. Love watching your vids Paul, never commented before but .....well it's an RS Ford !! Quick question what sprue cutters are using there ?

might try find one these belkits and do it in the moonstone! one my favourite colours I had one in my RS 500 Sierra Cosworth years ago wish I never sold that car it was mint! cost a fortune for the correct Dunlops it had when left showroom but they looked the 🐕 🎱🎱

I do it another way. I have the road going version, with the rear seats and no rollcage, and make it into a rallycar. It's in 1:43 and 1:24 from Bburago !! There are plenty of those on eBay for example. Nice paintjob, like your work.

Even though i'm a Vauxhall fan i do love Ford RS Cosworths, love the cars with the 'whale tails' even go to shows with a local butcher who's and ex rallycross driver he owns a road legal RS200 (genuine not a replica) and the only works evolution RS1700t escort

Cheers buddy, yes you can use those paint and thinner together, have a look at the Tamiya LP paints, I think their better than the Mr colors myself - Paul :)

Hey buddy, cheers and yes I alway sand back the primer finish a touch, and the top colour before decals and clearcoat I tend to just 12000 micromesh so a very abrasive, thanks for watching - Paul :)

Hi Paul - do you not need to use enamel thinner to remove the excess panel line accent?

If you catch the wash just as its drying, then itll wipe of mostly with the residue on the cotton bud

Hi Paul, love the channel and what you do. Given that you like older Ford's (as I do) I've attached a video of the fastest Sierra RS500 from back in the day from the Antipodes kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4K2nqBpmNVmpsk. This guy hosed the Rouse and Eggenberger Sierra's for pace. Thought you might like a build a replica along with the Black JPS M3 that raced in Oz around the same time. Love your work.
