Part 1 - The Hammond Novachord in "New Horizons"

Thank you for posting this as I am fascinated by the Hammond Novchord and would like to learn more about it.

The Novachord's downfall is often wrongly blamed on unreliability. Where it does have some issues, the main reason for failure was being so ahead of it's time few people understood how to play it properly or what context to use it in. We had to wait 30 years before musical styles had changed sufficiently that such timbres were explored. Speaking as a rare owner it's capable of producing huge sonic textures consisting of complex sustained chord structures in the right hands.

It wasn't useless. It was actually capable of making some pretty nice sounds and was polyphonic, unlike the synths that showed up later.

is this a video ABOUT the Novachord or USING the Novachord for music only? I can't seem to find any content about the novachord...
