Got your Executive Producer with you on your trip and in front of the camera. Very nice! International from Cairns also interesting would be like flying from Hobart to say Easter Island or Tahiti. So a 737-800 series is 3-3 configuration for seats, didn't know they could do long haul like that. Couple of production assistants/researchers along with you I see as well. Fantastic, looking forward to seeing more of your travel vlog. Felt weird though not hearing your famous catch-line at the end of "Happy Charging". :)

Nice fun, was it a significant discount going from Syd to cairns to haneda vs going from Syd to haneda direct? And is there much time saving going direct?

The greatest saving was because we booked very early. At the time ANA was not a partner with Virgin but Syd to Tokyo Haneda on Qantas was at least double the cost for the 4 of us. You’d save the layover time ~3h if you fly direct

Hi Tom & Joy we did the same flight ex Melb back in end of August same plane and they use the max on domestic routes also no virgin lounge closed during Covid enjoy we had 3 weeks and it wasn’t enough 😊

@@LudicrousFeed We just came back from Japan, didn't see a lot of Tesla (or even charging stations) when we were there. Lots of Mirai. You might have more luck! Btw, enjoy Japan! Very good destination especially for kids (or adults with inner child soul :) )

Not impressed with the service from virgin. Very very basic for an international flight. Cairns needs to upgrade their services as well. Enjoy Japan. It’s a wonderful country

I was a bit disappointed with Cairns international terminal tbh. Hopefully Virgin will put pressure on the airport to upgrade its existing services especially food outlets

Cannot believe Virgin uses the smaller SINGLE AISLE 737 to Japan, two toilets only and run out of hot food. Even Jetstar uses TWIN AISLE jet which is more spacious, 6 toilets for use and comes with infotainment.

So how come for a flight with 7.5 hours with 180 passengers in economy, the plane only has 2 toilets? It was never meant to fly that long in single aisle plane to begin with. I personally would never fly single aisle for flight more than 2 hours long not to mention 7.5 hours. What is Virgin thinking ? They used to have some A330-200 planes in fleet and now these planes were all gone.

I have to agree with you and unless the price of this journey was significantly cheaper than an equivalent Qantas, ANA or JAL flight, it is unlikely that I will fly to Japan via Cairns with Virgin again particularly given that the International Terminal leaves a lot to be desired. VA1 and VA2 used to fly from Sydney to LAX return and that was a very comfortable journey onboard Virgin metal. The only redeeming factor is that the Virgin staff are always very friendly, polite and professional in their customer care
