For me, adding music is risky. There are too many styles and tastes, so it is low odds that it will be liked or help focus. If people want to listen to music, they just put on music. I do teach media and communication at a uni, which means nothing really when it comes to KZbin success, but I do think about this stuff a lot. When I am watching M and A videos and learning about corporate finance to better run my company, I always already have music on ha ha. Anyways you’re putting out great content and your videos have really helped me with my vocabulary and my understanding of how to prepare my company for sale even though I’m still at the very early stage of the start up. Thank you for your work!

A very insightful video I just have one question. When companies consolidate you mention how one of the CFOs and so forth are often laid off. Are there ever times where they “lesser CFO” is simply moved to a lesser position in the new consolidate company? Or are is lay-off the more prominent route.

yes, that happens. That isn't a tough sell if the "lesser CFO" is with the acquired company and the acquirer is much larger, i.e., if the downgrade in title comes with an upgrade in responsibility overall due to being in a larger organization. Also, many acquired companies are run as separate companies, as subsidiaries of the parent. And, in that situation, while there may be layoffs, there may not be. I've been involved in plenty of acquisitions where the acquired company stays entirely intact.
