Great progress! Love it! I'm going through my harness now. It's a big project. You make it look easy.
@WolfofWisco Жыл бұрын
Do your own harness? Nice! That’s a big undertaking. I have good and bad days, of course with video editing I can remove hours of tedious work but overall it’s going well for a swap project

Nice work. I’m running the same engine in my 85 vanagon. Great engine choice.👍

I already had the car- it sat for a few years and I decided to make the swap- then learned a 2.2 is a good engine and some like it better than the 2.5.

Nice project. Just wondering if you've considered a VW TDI engine instead? Wouls have been awesome for MPG.
@WolfofWisco Жыл бұрын
I already had the Subaru donor car so that’s why I chose that engine. A TDI would be awesome bit would probably need to use the VW 4 speed and without overdrive on that old transmission, higher RPMS on the engine.

Where did you find the code killer for the transmission control module?
@WolfofWisco Жыл бұрын
I had Steve Lopez of Low PEZ customs out of Texas do my wire harness modifications and he added the code killer.

Do you have the link to their website I can't seem to find them.
Yes- standard fuel tank and gravity feed outlet that feeds the external fuel pump

My brother is looking to do this kind of conversion but he wants to have a hvac system do you think the 2.2 could handle a rooftop rv unit or should he just use a vintage air stlye unit?
@WolfofWisco11 ай бұрын
Many guys use vintage air and have a great success with that. Use the stock Subaru ac compressor and the vintage under dash unit with blower fan. I haven’t done that ac install but hear it’s great. There’s good FB forums for this swap stuff

Do you have the part number for the belt you used? I also need one without power steering.

Napa belt NBH 25050275. Alternator to crank pulley w/o power steering. Works on my Subaru 2.5 engine.
