Is a fuel tank right next to your head a good idea in a fire situation?

It’s diesel, there’s no issue with it being where it is. No chance it can catch on fire

Not tryin to tell you how to do ya job but be careful hooking loads up to just one battery. 10tonne truck we had at work I hooked up 2 amber beacons to one battery and they drew more amps than the 24v alternator put out so it would constantly kill the battery. If ya keep getting flat batteries might need to get a 24-12v converter

I will second that. Have built several fire trucks using ex US military 5 ton trucks. The first one we built we had issues draining the one battery. Always used a 24-12v inverter after.

Just wondering after all the hard setting up the truck why cut corners on the electrics? Buy a 12/24 invertor with decent amp output along with a blade fuse panel so you can wire your 2way along with additional power outlets including Usb port to support phone charging handheld 2way charger plus move that horrid flashing light wire so it dont melt to the fuse panel. Here fire vechiles have fire suppression system's fitted to protect the cab occupants this uses independant water source if the pump fails. Along with pull down heat refective shield blinds on each window so if the truck fails you have less chance of ending up fried inside. No good just having spray for outside crew. Like others said dont have all your wiring running to 1on a 24v system it causes the batteries to unbalance in charge leading to failure.😢 The least amount of wiring running like a spider web adds to the safety of everyone and easier to maintain ❤❤ Remember the heat factor from fire's when building fire truck's Also pay to get a alloy fuel tank that plastic one looks scary if you suffer a ember attack it would go off like a bomb. GOOD LUCK KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 👍👍👍👍Look into getting some fire blankets for additional personal protection ONLY ALIVE ONCE❤❤❤❤
