You really helped us alot in quarantine, our teachers have only given us the notes and marked the topics, but without your videos, I can't understand the topics, everything was looking too much tough, love from Pakistan 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰, keep it up sir

Dr.Pushpendra doing a great job, but also work on accuracy! When you accelerate ions, say with a voltage of V, Kinetic enrgy of all the ions will be 1/m(v squared). working backward, velocity of each ion will be inversely proportional to the square root of the mass of the ion. thus low mass ions will be much faster than heavier masses! Sure magnetic deflection mass analyzer is a momentum filter. It only means that all the ions of same momentum take a arc which will have the same radius. Thus they all travel along the flight tube and enter the slit and travel on to the detector. as m1v1 will not be equal to m2v2, in the normal case, as we scan the magnetic field, one after the other ions reach the detector and get registered.

I missed on one thing, 1/2 * m(v squared). When mass difference of the ions becomes very small, it could happen that m1v1 becomes equal to m2v2 and such ions can not be separated by magnetic deflection alone. When we apply the electrostatic analyser, ions of identical enrgy are filtered and now as eE=1/2 * m(v squared), only ions of a sigle KE can pass through and m1v1 can never be equal to m2v2 and interference gets removed or as you say we have much better resolution! I hope you take it in the right spirit.

As per my opinion you are working with BARC as scientist on MS and specialized for that. These videos are for UG and PG students. If I will give complicated material then it will not be that much useful. If anyone wants to study that much specified then he/she will study from reference books. We are trying to give basic knowledge, if anyone wants more or questions arises in his/her mind then I will suggest them to explore by themselves.

@@Qurann21 due to less deflection in higher mass ions it happens, but only in ToF it will be like that whatever you are saying.
