7:40 Sorry, but you lost me there. As far as I understand, if you irradiate the sample at the Larmor frequency of a given group, all the energy states should be populated equally. So a quartett with a splitting of 1:4:4:1 should become 1:1:1:1 Why is this not the case? Also: where does the notation with +1/2 +y -y -1/2 come from?

Dear sir, first of all a big thankyou to you for making these videos for students like us... And secondly regarding this video i have a question, if spin decoupling gives only 3 single peaks for ethanol how will we determine what are the groups present in any unknown compound? What is the usefulness of this technique if all the peaks are same? Thank you...

Sir please look on this question CDCl3 peak in H1NMR spectrum appears at-ppm A 5.26 B 2.36 C 3.36 D 7.26
@pkclasses100
@pkclasses100 5 жыл бұрын
CDCl3 will not give any peak in H1NMR because H is absent, Deuterium is present.
@biswabratamodak19
@biswabratamodak19 5 жыл бұрын
if you deal with pure CDCl3 it would not give any peak in 1H nmr, but Commercially available CDCl3 contains CHCl3 as impurity, thus it would show the peak of CHCl3 with low intensity at 7.26 ppm
