Part 17. Orkney 23. Prepping the nidaplast deck for fibreglassing. Fishing boat repair

Well today we bonded down the port stern section of nidaplast deck. I then filled the edges of the bow section bonded in yesterday. This will make the plastic ends of the nidaplast stable, so can be rubbed down smoothly.

Thanks mate, I thought they were a good idea to reduce condensation. I fitted them in my old boat 7 years ago, and they are far better than that 2 part foam a lot of people had issues with

Fantastic I'm learning a lot keep them coming I was going to do my deck with ply but now I'm ordering nidaplas so thanks for posting .

Oh boy, how I hate those balls… I use to work on a cruise ship years ago as an all around handyman. There was childrens play area in the ship with The Sea of Balls, little room full of those balls in all colours. Once we had to take them for wash. Best place to do it was in the Pool area after it was closed. So we wash them in big nets and left them dry there, meaning to come back next morning before opening. Unfortunetly we were too busy that morning and the pool area was allready open when we got there. And some joker had poured all those little f****rs into swimming pool. It took a while to catch them out there while customers where asking us what in earth were we doing… But anyway, thats great idea using them like you do.

We found GRP UK LTD the cheapest place, but all grp suppliers have it
