Awesome video James! I'm really liking this model and the printed hood pins are INCREDIBLE! Never saw such detail from tiny parts!!! I was in suspense when you were putting on the decals on the sides of the car where there were so many contours and grooves, you didn't show that part on the video of how you managed to get it on nicely😨 I see those STS decals are of awesome quality! I would say go ahead and finish the body before going on the motor and chassis. This is a great subject to be doing, I'm excited for the future videos on this Ken Block Mustang build

Thanks Ray, I agree the tiny parts are amazing looking and delicate. I’ll have to be careful when painting and installing them. The side decal took about 45 mins each side. Nobody would watch the video😂

I am always impressed with your decal work. I love how you showed the entire trunk laydown sped up a bit. I would have liked to see the side/door decal done as well as I am sure this posed a little more of a challeng with the ridges involed. I've always had issues with decals and ask myself, is it me or am I just using crapy decals! haha. I think it is the decals. Your choices are unfair there sir. Of course I want to see the body completed but I really want to see some engine and chassis work as well. I think you are needing more time in the workshop so you can appease my need to see both.

Hey Spencer, the side decal was a challenge with the side scoop and the door handle. Each side took me about 45 mins each. Patience and careful cutting tested me for sure! You can’t vote for all 3 man!

@Scale Model Experiment There are x2 parts missing from the .stl files. It's a bar/arm that connects the chassis to the front suspension. There are also some parts you need that aren't shown in your image of all parts. Double check your springs, x2 Long, x2 Short. Looks like you have x2 extra v-shaped arms, the narrower v, looks like you need to print x1 more of each kind of Rod+Boot. Can't wait to see you cover this part. I've reached out to the designer for the missing .stl's, but I REALLY hope to see you scratch build it from similar files in this kit!!!
@ScaleModelExperiment4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info on the missing parts, I would have figured it out at test fit pre assembly 😂 I’ll double check that I have everything printed. As for scratch building? Not my strong suit. I have some friends that might be able to draw something up. Unless you’ve already done them? Thanks for watching, seems like you’ve done this already I’d love to see your work.

@@ScaleModelExperiment Haven't completed mine, I'm going all out scale and it will take me awhile to acquire all the bits I want! (For example, you'll definitely need at least x1 1/25 roof mounted gopro if your hood pins are that awesome! +10 on the upgraded engine + drive train. I got a second hood to cut turbo ports for my 1/25 V2 engine, might do quick-swappable, might just display the V2 from engine hoist. Gotta do a helmet bro, this bad ride comes with a helmet. So happy you're doing display chassis! STS will also do just logos so I can do solid ultra flat black livery. Bro, scratchbuilding is so exciting! It's an addicting challenge and rewarding! You'll never look at plastic trash on the ground the same. (and you might start hoarding clamshell packaging) Anyways, I ordered my kit printed from a person online that prints REALLY clean and trims excellent. Kit was missing a couple parts, so without instructions and I'm primarily an aircraft guy, I had to study the images from the designer to get all my parts and discovered the missing .stl's. I haven't checked back with the designer, but they said they may be doing the parts if we want them. I was actually waiting to purchase the files to see if they are added.

Hi mate. Thanks for your great videos and for giving me the inspiration to purchase the Hoonicorn. Can you please help me with two questions? The zip file comes with variants of 1:8/1:10/1:18/1:24 etc. When I open the body stl in Chitubox in the 1:24 I have to reduce its size to fit the build plate. Can you tell me by what percentage I need to reduce it to to be as your 1:25 in the video? Saturn 3 Ultra. Also some of the files I open in Chitubox give me a response of too small to print? The front splitter bracket links is a good example. I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks
@ScaleModelExperiment3 ай бұрын
Do not resize any parts or they will be out of scale. Instead angle the large parts to fit. For the parts it says are too small say no to resize.
@jonanderson98743 ай бұрын
Great thanks for clarifying it. I saw you reduce the parts in your review: Elegoo Standard vs Water Wash - Hoonicorn Engine Prining video but I think you were just doing that for the review. More parts to compare. Thanks again. @@ScaleModelExperiment

Hi Shooter, I’ve found that sometimes the solvents leave spots on decals that don’t go away even after a water wash. My sponsor Miniature only uses a brush and heat so I’m trying to mimic his technique.
