I am creating a special themed sculpture to benefit the National Kidney Foundation during the month of March, National Kidney Month. Titled "The Good Bean," this sculpture will have a kidney-shaped frame to highlight its connection with the NKF's efforts in raising awareness of kidney health. In this installment I show how I create a spiral and fabricate and weld supports to the frame.
If you are interested in commissioning a themed piece for your own event, company or organization, please contact me at one of the links below. I'd be happy to speak with you about the possibilities.

Wow.. you're just GREAT buddy... can you perhaps tell me, if there is a way to fix the iron without this technique.. like soldering iron or it must be exactly the same way you did it :( ?

Thank you for your compliments. You can use many types of metal. I started out soldering copper. You can solder brass also. Brazing is another way to join metals. You can use plain steel and MIG weld it, which is cheaper and easier to start out. Check my web site for more information and other videos www.tomharold.com

Thanks for making these great videos. I have been bedridden lately, and they really help the time pass more enjoyably. Great work!

Thanks so much for the compliments, Eldon. Hard to tell sometimes if anyone is watching! I'm glad I could provide a little enjoyment while you're laid up. I hope you're back on your feet soon, though!

Thanks again, Kurt, glad I could help! If you'd like to connect with other builders, there is a Rolling Ball Sculpture group on Facebook that has plenty of talented people in it, and there you can ask questions, check out videos and photos from other builders, and otherwise just gain a lot of info form a good group of people.
