I am curious why you chose to use CPVC/PVC instead of Pex/ABS? Isn't the flex of PEX/ABS preferable?

CPVC and PVC are also flexible as being plastic. They are also cheaper often in price and more accessible to the common person at local stores. I may consider doing more with PEX later on with RVs, but I just don't see the advantage at all of using ABS vs PVC.

Do to not being set in mortar, have you had any issues with the pan flexing and breaking the seal below the doors? Specifically the corner where the doors come together. I'm doing a similar install and there is a small gap between the floor and the shower pan.

Just curious, since I will be living full time in my renovated RV in the PNW where freezing temps are an issue, while having the RV plumbing exposed during this portion of the Reno be a good time to add pip insulation before closing the floor and wall back up? Also wondering about waterproofing and mildew proofing any new wooden joints that you install at this time?

If your new pipes are exposed to outside temps regularly, then yes you should put pipe insulation on them and overnight leave your outside shower running slowly overnight (then it won't fill up any grey tanks). Depending on the design of the RV, those pipes may already be in the heated part of the RV, for example, in my RV, the underbelly has a heat vent that goes into it so that it can stay just warm enough above freezing temperature and I don't have to worry about the pipes down there as long as the propane is being used to heat the RV. If the shower is installed correctly, you don't have to worry about leaking behind it, therefore, you should have to worry about waterproofing or mildew proofing any of the wooden joints. FYI, if you are going to be living in a very cold area with an RV, you should probably get a really good dehumidifier because the condensation that will occur on your windows and sometimes even your walls will be a lot and can even start small wood rot issues

Arfy I have a unique issue. My rv shower is way to small. I want to renovate to make the whole bathroom the shower. with a toilet and sink inside the room. any ideas?

Man! This was the best series for updating our shower! We are in the process of pricing all that we need. Can I ask, is there are reason that you don't use the pex piping? Just wondering. :)

Honestly I just don't have the tools for it and I installed cpvc a lot more over the years so I'm also more used to working with it. Thanks for the compliment 👍👍

Height from the floor to the ceiling where the shower went?

I forget, but it's just above my head and I am 6'2, so it is probably about 75 or 76 in

@@helloiambear5531 The shower being used, you did not have a problem with height of the shower being to high. I looked at the one you got. It says it is 74 3/4 in high. Our 5th wheel is 75 in high walls.

It was tight, but it definitely had no problem fitting. Probably had about an inch Gap on the top, but you never had to like screw down from above or anything like that so it was never an issue. Finding square walls in your trailer is more of an issue
