Hi I like you video! What I would like to see, is how a trike drive should be posisioned on a trike, leg room to shifter how far back you should be sitting this would be good knowledge for new drivers

Excellent video! New riders whether 2,3 and even 4 wheels should watch. Lot's of vital information! Some you have forgotten to use from drivers' Ed. But should use again everyday. Worth watching a few times. Come back and watch this again especially if you are a new rider. The S.E.E. method is key to survival. a.k.a. Situational Awareness! Assume you are invisible. The other drivers are idiots and on their cell phones! Cheers

Been riding a trike now for about 5 years. Finally, a video on how to ride a trike. You covered everything in your videos that I have experienced myself. Only thing I would add is I have a bright red two toned bike. I believe that helps people see me more easily but nothing will help as long as their faces are in their screens. I can't be seen from behind because of the rear trunk so no amount of bright clothing will help make me visable. But it can help when viewed from the side. I also run a brake light flasher. So far it seems to help people see me from behind. I do let people pass me. I would rather they be in front of me than behind. That way I will be better able to react if the need arises. And wind is my number one nemesis. It wears on you to have to apply constant pressure on the handlebars and that takes out the enjoyment of riding a bike. Thanks for a great video.

Hi Sandman, been on 2 wheels for 52 years, that's right I am an old fart. I just acquired a 2014 Triglide. The transition has been an experience with the biggest issue was putting my feet down when stopping. Thanks for your channel good info and instruction. Keep up the good work!!!

My method whether in a cage or motorcycle is what I call “reading the traffic”. I observe (try) everything around me and what other people on the road are doing and their driving habits. I’ll look at what the traffic is doing way up ahead to get an idea of any hazzard or event that may be encountered. If anyone is trailering anything or has something on their roof or in the bed of a pickup I’ll either pass them or get way behind them because too often people only bungee cord things like kayaks and bungees break and kayaks go flying causing an accident. Love your videos and commentary, ride safe Brother!

You talked about making your self visible to other drivers. ow many of you are wearing black or dark colored helmets? Our head is the tallest thing that stands out, and black just blends in with everything. I wear a white helmet, and as a former truck driver, a white helmet stands out more than a black one. Its just as cool as well as being cooler on your head in the hot sun. I also have a blue and white 15 Triglide that is very visible. My husband rides a Black Magic one, and even when he is in front or behind me, he blends into the pavement. And yes, always use the SEE system even when driving, but more so when you ride.

Temper temper -- that clown that wants to duel with you may be in a 2500-4000 lb. vehicle, you are at most maybe 12-1500 lbs. and you probably can't outrun that Charger or Corvette anyway. He will always win! Watch the movie Easy Rider, I have seen road actions like that in New Mexico once. I left the hi way and let him go. Oh yeah, don't mess with the local law enforcement, you might outrun them, but never that Motorola. When we go on long trips, we stay off of the interstates, coast to coast, use rte 50 or or even rte 66, lots to see. Up north, use rte 2 along the Canadian border through Idaho, Montana, Dakota, all the way to the great lakes. A truly beautiful ride. We seldom see other vehicles except when close to towns. Also in rural areas, watch out for critters, like cows, horses, coyotes, and John Deeres'. Farmers sometimes don't look before cutting across the hi way to another field while pulling that 22 bottom plow, or that harvester. If you are ever in Kerrville, Texas watch out for wild animals, like buffalo, lions, etc. Yup, they got em there!

Also want to add that I assume every car approaching an intersection, stop sign or traffic light is going to run it. And everyone on a side street or store/shopping center or driveway is going to pull out in front of me. Us motorcycle riders have ride like we are invisible or ride like everyone on the road is trying to run over us 😂

There are many hazards for motorcycles on the roads. Since you never know what is going to happen next, I ALWAYS look for escape routes in case of unexpected circumstances, and alternate escape routes just in case. While running into a corn field is not something you look forward to, it beats running into a Peterbuilt grill. Dirt is softer than steel. It might save your life.

Very comprehensive suggestions. Is line selection through a curve the same as on 2 wheels?
@sandmanrides4318
@sandmanrides4318 8 ай бұрын
That is a very good question. Line selecting is the same as a two wheel motorcycle. However, you have to compensate for the width of the three-wheel motorcycle. You definitely do not want to run a tire into the shoulder or a ditch. Maintain a good entry speed and everything should be okay.

About the Hanging Rock Loop, its not even close to the Dragon's Tail...but fun, none the less. Thank you for your service and I'll c u later
