Dude!!! As a casino employee, you gotta feel for mistreating service staff. I’m American Filipino, but the moment any pinay mistreats service staff like that she’s immediately out. Explain to her that her actions were unacceptable, pay for her trip back home and proceed with finding another one. I also had a failed K-1 visa attempt that stemmed from one lie. She had a 5 year old daughter she didn’t disclose and the US embassy discovered that convenient omission. Deal breakers are important and stick to your values.

100% agree on this and this was a sort of icing on a cake of red flags and uncomfortable moments. I didn't want or find any sort of confrontation necessary so I quietly left. She apologized and thanked me after I explained myself through text. She was very appreciative and sweet after all has been said and done.

I was once visiting a good friend in the PI years ago and he was friends with a 'Mama San' from a bar. She shared a house with 5 or 6 of the girls from the bar. We used to go visit them during the day and this particular day was 'letter day'. All the girls had 'boyfriends' writing to them from the US or UK etc. and sending them money. The boyfriends all thought the girls were in their province with the family. And of course all of them had a sick grandmother or uncle or niece that needed money for doctors :-) They had them on a roster system so that' John' had his work vacation in July, Peter in September, Paul in May etc so that none of them would come and visit while another was there. They were each taking turns at reading the boyfriends letters out loud and we were all laughing at the guys promising their eternal love and saying how much they missed them and couldn't wait for their vacation. But the truly funny thing was that one girl that was the most literate would write the most 'lovey' letter and then each girl would copy the same letter and just insert her boyfriends name at the top :-) So just be aware that it's not all that it seems. These girls (people) are experts at parting gullible men from their money. DO NOT feel like you need to be buying them stuff, you don't. There is absolutely no need to be having LDR if you're planning to go to PI for a vacation. Within a day or two you can meet a girl when you arrive there.

If she has no job and supposedly no money then how is it that she is always online, with data service for Whatsapp etc.? THink about that. I've been there 4 times, met two women. It worked out okay..But yeah, go with your gut. If it don't feel right, nothing wrong with letting go, She should've appreciated what U could give and not ask for more. When i was last there, my girl was humble and appreciated everything we spent together. While she was trying to get a phone case they said her phone was an old model. I then told her lets get one, she insisted not to. But because her attitude was so apprecative and humble, I got her a new phone that was high quality galaxy. The fact is was more expensive didnt matter to me.. it was the fact she had the right attitude and personality. I in turn wanted to do something good for her. Sorry about your experience. At first glance, that kind of a woman is clearly a gold digger. Most girls in the city are like that. Not all, though. If you want a conservative kind, then, I recommend you go to the rural areas, especially in the Visayas or Mindanao Islands. Avoid looking girls in the clubs. Guys a word of advice from someone that's been around SEA for many years. If you want a real relationship you need to find a girl that has a good job and comes from a good prosperous family that doesn't need your money. The vast majority are looking to be the 'breadwinner' for the family and you are the one that pays. Also there are very few that don't have kids although they will lie and tell you they don't. Regarding your room, I'm surprised it's as good as it is. You will find that the hotels generally are crap in the Philippines. You shouldn't have left her more money apart from the room rate :-)

After being married to a pinay for 30-plus years, you should learn more about her culture if you're going to date a foreign woman. A pinay is territorial. If she is touching you, she is sending a signal to the other women to back off, your taken. And yes, the PI is hot, what where you expecting? That's on YOU! Second, when upset or mad, a pinay can often default to tampo. They become stand offish. Stop talking. It can actually be difficult to get her to tell you why she is upset. You either adapt or you perish. Third, you made the mistake of talking about buying an AC and fridge. Dumb man, really dumb! If you want to do it, then just do it. Don't talk about it. Just do it. Take her to the store, then when you find the unit you want to buy, ask if she wants it. If she declines, then say OK and move on. Man up, you make an offer you're comfortable with. She will either agree or not. And I gather this was your first time being with her. Why are you buying her stuff like that anyway? That should be something you buy if she moves in with you, not just casually dating. Fourth, yes, she learned English in school. But that's NOT the english we speak. You're just causing yourself problems by talking about buying something in the future like a fridge. In her mind, when you did, you had offered to buy it for her. There are light-years of difference in what you meant to say and what she thought she heard you say. I can't claim to know what happened here. All I can do is react to what I you showed us. What I saw was that you tried to buy her and failed. Then you're whining about it and ran off like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum. Don't shoot the messenger, that's what I saw! Do you have a life plan and milestones to achieve it? Or are you just being tossed around in the waves? You need to lead a relationship! She can't get on board with your plans if you have none. I am not such a perfect expert & I don't say that you have to go to the province to find a good Pinay. What i do say is that if her profession is 'student' and yet she does not actually attend a university then she's not what you are looking for. If you potential girl is always on-line for you and has not job and not university to attend then she's a pro LDR girl or more. Girls that hae jobs work as much as 28 days per month, if they lucky they only work 26 days a month. Girls with jobs can't be online with you at the drop of a emoji. Look for the patterns and the lies or stuff that does not pass the smell test. What got me thinking about that filipina you're with, was she rather have you shop at a grocery store in the mall vs shopping at the palengke where food is much fresher and cheaper... Then trying to pressure you to buy her a more expensive aircon instead of having appreciation for the one you offered to buy for her... I would drop my expectations and survive on Her Accommodations, what ever that may have entailed....hot, sweaty, no groceries. Then slowly build Up from that.... It appears you over spoke and didn't budget enough for your extended stay. If you had insisted on the cheaper AirCon and installed it you could have experienced the difference and highlighted Functionality/Benefit. She was Pretty....surely you could have compromised a little more., and understood her POV too. No relationship is perfect. You have to find the level of craZy that you can LIVE with, and constantly strive to make Life for both, Better.

Thanks for the comment and good points on a couple fronts. I did insist and we installed the cheaper air con together, but I wasn't willing to stay at her place after so it was just a gift. I wasn't planning an extended stay for this trip, budgeting wasn't an issue. The last portion of your comment was just it, what she showed me in a few days with her wasn't what I was willing to put up with so I opted to travel alone and end it between us.

I would like to respectfully suggest that you may have created unrealistic expectations before you even met her. You had already suggested buying a mini-fridge and planned a trip that involved an airline flight. These are luxury items in the Philippines and most people could not consider buying these things without considerable planning and saving. Then, it sounds like shortly after you met you are offering to also buy a new Air Conditioner. Again, most average families in the Philippines don't have any money saved to pay for such a thing. I'm just saying that it appears reasonable to me that you were the one who perhaps unintentionally indicated that you have unlimited money to spend on her, so when she got pissy about having limits she was basically just expressing disappointment compared to the expectations that you had already created. You might find, as I have, that purposely avoiding any suggestion that you will buy a woman anything until after you meet and get to know each other avoids lots of problems.
