Thanks! I know that classes are too expensive for some (I can't even afford them!) or they might not have a teaching studio anywhere near them, etc. They are a totally different experience also - to be there, ask questions and have a hands-on experience with a teacher (which is great). But for the people out there that don't have the opportunity or money to take those classes, I feel it's important that they can get some ideas and inspiration, too!

Thank you!! Woot! I love to inspire new ideas and creativity - - that is EXACTLY what I want to achieve by showing these videos! There are SO many different ways to make various designs, and I hope to show the way I do things to help others be more creative and experiment more with this awesome artistic medium called glass! :)

you have been inspiring me for a few years now. I did try the bunny you posted some time back..... that didn't turn out so well. But I know more now than I did then, so I may have to revisit that. I did have lots of success with the" more than one bead on a mandrel", what a time saver! Especially as I am on a Hothead. You explain and demonstrate things so they are very easy to follow. Learning on my own, it's so helpful to have people like you that are so generous with their knowledge. I really do appreciate it tremendously!

Thanks so much! Yes, that bunny was a bit difficult, especially when trying to keep the whole thing warm. You can also try just to do a bunny head instead of a whole body. But yes, a hothead also is limited in the torch size - - if you had a minor or mini cc to run, you can turn your flame down really low to have much more control over the heat -- can't do that so much on a hothead.

I know.... the hothead does have it's limitations. But I had to make a choice and I opted for a kiln instead of the oxy tank/ better torch. But I do manage to make some pretty nifty stuff. I will try the bunny head alone and see how that goes. I almost always use the smaller mandrels you showed in these last two videos. I like that the bead holes come out small. I don't think I have ever heated one up so much that I melted it.... maybe my poor little hothead has one advantage :) lol!

Haha! Yes, not sure if a hothead gets hot enough to melt thru steel (I haven't used one in over 12 years, lol). But, you don't need an oxy tank for one of those torches, you can get an oxygen concentrator (5psi minimum, which is the standard kind) and you can generate your own oxy without having the expense, hassle (if you have to lug the tanks back and forth to a welding supply store or something) or safety factors (high pressures) of a tank.
