@@herondale1527, when you say "any issue", do you just mean in your personal opinion? Because legally, that's not true. She's ripping off their design for profit by replicating it to create money making content like this video. She's profiting by exploiting their design & infringing their copyright. So if you meant that there wasn't "any issue" legally, you were mistaken there. It's unlawful infringement of copyright amongst other issues. The owner of the deaign has the legal right to decide who can use, copy, or reproduce their design under conditions set by them.

@@_.Cheri._, just because you personally don't mind stealing designs & exploiting them for personal profit like has happened here, doesn't mean "it doesn't matter". It just means you don't care. Why do you think it's alright to steal like that? Why do you think designers work shouldn't be respected? And also, you're just factually wrong in your claim here. She's profiting from ripping off their work by using it to create this content. Shes making money off jacking other people's work. It's exploitative & unethical. She could have taken inspiration from their design and come up with something original & actually creative, but no she just ripped them off & deliberately created a guide for others to do the same. Really low behaviour that you're excusing.

I'm not clear on why you think her signposting the original makes it okay? It's kind of like giving someone directions to the store you shoplifted from & then saying that makes it not stealing.

In my opinion I think that it really depends on who you are for the “Buy it or DIY it?” If you have the money and probably don’t have a lot of free time to do this kinda of thing then yeah, maybe you should buy it. But if you are going for a less expensive approach and you have the spare time then I think you should DIY it. It also depends on other things of course but i think the main thing is price vs time
@hawthorn998 ай бұрын
I think you should include your total hours of labor into the cost as well. The time it takes is worth something to. Especially if someone has like kids and a job. The hours will tell them if it's worth it to them or not. Like I love the lamp you did it seemed pretty simple. But this mirror might take somebody a really long time and they might feel really defeated if it takes them a long time. So including the time might give more motivation or let them plan for the craft.
@aminahhamza78658 ай бұрын
If you have time you have time .. if you don't have time then you have money to buy it for yourself.. if you don't then you create time to make one for yourself.. it's life and life has to do with compromise!!! So compromise time or money.. it's your call!
@hawthorn998 ай бұрын
@@aminahhamza7865 that was an entitled comment on your end. You think just because people work a lot and don't have a lot of time for things that it means they have money to buy what they want? That's naive. Also saying life is a compromise is an understatement. And just because life is full of compromises doesn't mean you aren't allowed to ask about the compromise you're making.(in fact people that make compromises usually agree on those compromises....which means they already know the circumstances) I asked for the rough time frame. I have heavy responsibilities outside of crafts. Just because I asked doesn't mean I'll get an answer but it doesn't mean I can't ask. Thanks
