Great Advise! " when you get a new LT take the rear wheels off". But I would suggest using anti-seize instead of grease. Yes, I know the frustration and to know that it was preventable, If the MFG had used just a very small amount of anti-seize.

Thanks! As long as the engine hold up I should be able to keep it going for a while. This one has a Koehler engine and my old one had a Briggs. The nice thing about these mowers is that it is easy to get parts for them.

Try spraying vinegar on the shaft it will seep in between the wheel and shaft over time and break down the rust then if you have one use a air hammer on the shaft while pulling on the wheel .

Had the same problem on a Husqvarna, Right rear wheel was " rust welded" to the axil. Used a entire can of P.B. Blaster and while using a harmonic balancer puller, I broke the puller. I welded it back together and re-enforced it with 1/4" steel plate. Still wouldn't budge. Let it set over night with the P.B. Blaster and tried it again the next day. I Finally got it to come off using an air hammer against the end of the axil. I guess the vibration of the air hammer loosens up the rust. I know this is 2 year old, Did you ever get the wheel off?

I got it off but the axle came off with it.

They make a anti seize lubricant that works better and longer than regular grease.

Yeah that would probably be best for this application. I just used the high temp grease because that’s what I had on hand.

When trying to pull that stuck wheel, you need to do an in and out procedure to give debris a chance to drop out. Pull first, release pressure, then push back, then repeat.

I find if worse comes to shove, cut the old rim off and buy a new rim. Had to do that with the neighbors tractor. Best not to hammer on the hub to much it can damage the tranny.

I would use copper anti seize grease

I use h puller and two long bolts and nuts, heat it up

I used a small punch and whacked the key with a big f**king hammer til the key moved. Then used the big f**king hammer to whack a pry bar on the inside of the hub til the wheel fell off.

Lots of ideas in the comments. None worked for me but I think mine was exceptionally stuck on. I’m sure some of these ideas will work depending on the level of stuckness and you skill of applying these techniques. Just be careful not to apply too much force or the axle may come off with the wheel still attached.

Turn on its side soak with wd40 few days. Then drill holes in wheel use puller

Use a little cut off wheel. Cut the center of the Julio so you can remove the the rim and the tire and take your cut off wheel and cut the. Then you Take your cut off wheel and run the line all the way down. The boss that's still left on the tractor axle being careful not to go all the way through and cut into your a******And then you'll be able to get it off and clean it up. And you'll just have to buy a new rim. You just have to buy a new rim.

I feel your pain. After a lot of frustration and anguish that wheel is still stuck on my old mower. In part 1, I explored several methods that have been used to successfully remove a wheel that is stuck bigger than crap. There are also some comments on that video with some things that have worked for other folks. None of the methods I tried worked for me due to the degree to which the wheel was stuck. However, I don’t believe it would be a waste of your time to try some of the methods I tried, like applying penetrating oil and using a gear puller. While my video is for entertainment purposes only, in part 2, I did want to share some advice I received on how to prevent the problem of a stuck wheel in the first place. I hope you are able to get your wheel off and would be interested to hear what worked for you.
