Sal posted in the Spyderco Forum that part of the reasoning behind the design choices for the Sage 5 Lightweight was to possibly enable multiple color and steel options for the future. Don’t be surprised if we see Sprints or Dealer Exclusives with these.

I, too, would like to see a Native 5 with a compression lick, Travis, but I would certainly settle for that Sage 5 lightweight. It's the style of knife, abd the size that I could carry every day. Nice review.

Native 5 , I would do it if they came with a compression lock. Not a big lock back fan. I just bought the Sage 5 from you a couple hours ago.
