This Hatfield Historical Society program, presented by George Vachula, is the second of three parts to help viewers learn or improve their skills in transcribing and digitizing old handwritten documents. Throughout the series, George shows many examples he's transcribed from the collection of the Hatfield Historical Museum. We have many more that need transcribing, though, so we hope some of you will be interested to help us transcribe others. This program ran on Oct. 21, 2021, and was introduced by Kathie Gow, curator, and Meguey Baker, assistant curator, of the Hatfield Historical Museum, and Bob Osley, Hatfield Historical Society president.
This series of programs (six in all), was made possible by a grant from Mass Humanities, with funding through the Mass Cultural Council. Each recorded program, after it takes place, will be added to our KZbin channel. The first three are on transcription, and the last three are about doing genealogy and house research. Let us know if you find them useful!
