Part 2 W220 Airmatic Testing Air compressor and fixing notes

In this several days project I have fixed a Mercedes W220 with several Airmatic system issues. These include a leak in the Airmatic valve assembly, leak on top of one of the strut and fixing of the compressor to produce better compression for the system.
I did a lot of research using Mercedes documents for the vehicle, which I have compiled into these videos.
Since the repair, I have been running the vehicle for several months and the system has been performing well with no issues. The overall cost was minimal for all my fixes as I didn't just replace the components randomly. I hope these notes will help you fix any Airmatic related issues on your Mercedes.

Good job !! Where did you order parts for this pump?/ Like piston ring?? And, also, that pipe connection, leaving a pump, leaks usually too, so that pipe is actually different looking now, improved, so it does not leak so easy!=)

great video! I noticed you mentioned the front 2 struts failed and I was wondering if it is similar to the issue I'm having. my front struts are fully pumped up. just the front and they will not release any air. I also saw you video on the valve being blocked and thought it could be that valve. the rear height looks normal but I can not tell if it raises up or lowers anymore. been like this about a month now. any advice?

Would that valve on that compressor be the reason why the car keeps lowering and not Rising. The car used to go up and down when I opened the door now just goes low and does not come back up anymore

Awesome video, Mr. Waqas. Thanks so much. my son had a relay airbag switch replaced(looks new 80 amp), but it just clicks and will not turn on the air bag compressor!? Could the mechanic possibly crossed the wires or caused a ground short, or could the relay switch(supposed to be new) be bad? Or, something else? Thanks again for your helpful video.

Air bag? You must mean air shock. The connectors only go in one way, you can't switch them by accident. It literally takes 1 minute to test a relay, so it's easy to determine if the relay is functional or not.

I removed the Wabco Continental ZSB suspension compressor on my 2005 Audi Allroad. I have a hard and steady 01397 code failure indicating the N111 solenoid was bad. I didn't see any bad wiring anywhere, so I removed the compressor. How do I bench check this compressor to confirm it's bad? It seemed to be working fine before it failed suddenly as I was driving it. Over a week or so it sunk down evenly to the lowest stops on all fours wheels. When I disconnected the brown airline to it, air was released as of it was being stored well in the system. The numbers after Wabco are: 001 0424. Does this mean it was made on 2004? Thanks!

Great video. I want to test a compressor for a Vw Touareg, it looks exactly the same as yours. The thing is that I want to power the compressor using a variabile bench supply. Do you know how many amps does that motor draw?

just plug wire it to the battery and it should run. scared? use a relay.

you don't have a battery, you say? Only have a AC->DC power supply? Then show no fear, show no mercy! Punish that power supply! If it can't turn a little compressor or protect itself from overcurrent,, it's not worthy!

My pump runs and cuts off. When I disconnect the outlet on the pump to the valve block the pump sucks in air from the intake and blows out air from the outtake. When I reconnect the line to the valve block the inlet no longer sucks air in it blows air out. Anybody got any ideas. Is it just not enough compression on the cylinder head or what
