She's been through so much, working for Northwest and sun country and seeing so much of her sisters being scraped and torn apart. And yet still pushes on into modern days

I love these videos. I worked for Eastern Airlines for years and spent a lot of time in and around their 727s at the Miami International Airport. They were used extensively on the routes to Bolivia, Colombia and Peru.

I know this place is off limits, but did anyone tell you to leave/were there any close calls? Im thinking about coming here but i wouldn't want to get fined for trespassing

As far as I know, you’re usually safe to go to Maxton without having to worry about airport security but no matter what you need to keep a low profile (which is why I don’t suggest trying to climb into the aircraft). But in some cases, airport security will be around. When I went down to Maxton in January, there was someone in a tractor plowing the corn fields and I didn’t stop to think that he could radio in to the airport but sure enough he did. I was walking on the tarmac and went back to the woods area when I saw security coming towards me and it was an older gentleman who informed me that I shouldn’t be there, but he knew why I was there and saw I was just a kid with a camera and posed no threat and he let me stay for a little while longer. But most people won’t be so lucky and will get someone from security who won’t be so nice. So always keep a low profile at Maxton and I always ask for people to not vandalize, steal, or climb into the aircraft because that’s how you get arrested and ruin the experience for everyone else.

I agree, training is important for the 1st responders, TSA, FBI, etc. You can stage different scenarios for your team to be more aware and prepared. Fedex donated several of their retired 727s for training also....

Great idea. I have seen other videos of other historic planes, such as the 747, etc. Better yet, why not convert at least one of each of these aircraft into restaurants, where you can get on board, sit wherever you like, and order whatever you like. The waiters and waitresses can be dressed like flight attendants, and you can imagine being on a flight to anywhere you like, maybe even convert some of them into movie theatre, preserving the seats as they were, using the pull down trays as the tables.

Great airplane. From they days before quality inspectors were replaced with highly-skilled accountants.
