I have to tell you how much i enjoy your videos. I've been trying to make myself a tree horse inspired by your videos. However, as i work in the care sector, i don't have much time or energy to do much to my projects. As a result, i can get very overwhelmed by how much i have left to do before i reach the next stage. I've watched other creators but it doesn't seen t.i help and i don't get anything done. But when i rewatch one of your videos, I feel inspired in a calm way, so that i can at least get a little bit done and enjoy the process, rather than making it feel as though it's a race to get it done. I also find it really annoying when other creators say something is handmade on their thumb nail, only to find they're used a 3d printer and a laser cutter!

thank you, I'm extremely happy with the look of it for sure! I didn't tell this story on video but I was laying in bed at 3:30 in the morning, unable to sleep, thinking about the texture paint on the walls and how much I liked that then it hit me "the squares on the bark!!" and yup, I jumped out of bed to try it out, lol I just love that. Keeps the work exciting :)

I'm so glad to hear that, it means a lot to know the videos are helpful in that direction. I know what those ruts feel like, been there a time or 2, and it always feels amazing to climb out of that and get crafting again.. nothing beats the feeling of feeling inspired and making stuff! Happy crafting to you :)

The bark looks amazing! I’ll definitely be using the technique once I get to that stage of my treehouse. I will need to experiment with both texture and colours though as I’m aiming for an elvish ‘Lothlorien’ look. So silver birch rather than aged oak probably. Not sure how that will turn out!

I wanted to mention that baby powder is basically scented cornstarch. In cooking of course we use cornstarch to thicken a liquid. I have never tried adding it to paint.i love your textured paint and want to try it.

This is turning out lovely. I am thinking about building a Witch Tree for my Village houses. Thinking about weight though. May I please ask, do you know how much weight these support with out, frame work? I have heavier porcelain houses, a Witch portion, and a Psychic Row, on my Halloween Display. I would love to find the video for the shingled roof on your larger older gnome home. I am also trying to figure out how this takes to repainting, or finding a neutral paint, for both Halloween and Christmas Village, so I could leave it up. I love this 💜❤️💜❤️💜

When I paint anything, it always start with black paint. A long time ago I learned from you about black gift tissue, I believe. Loved that suggestion. Down the road I started using black napkins. Great idea, no more white spots. You are using white paper towels. Do you like the white towels better?

Hi Sharon, do you use a sealer on your work and if so what do you use? Please.
@WhereTheGnomesLive2 жыл бұрын
no sealer on the exterior. I always seal in interior walls after they are painted, I do show that in the videos, I use the water based Varathane in a Satin finish. I use the sealer on the interior walls to keep it easy to wipe off dust in the future or anything I spill on them as I work on the tree.

Hi Sharon, thanks for your great tutorials I do have one question, do you think the treehouse made this way is strong enough for children to play with?
@WhereTheGnomesLive2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely strong enough! I know it’s hard to imagine but the materials, once fully dry, are super strong. It does take about a week for everything to fully cure, so even if dry to the touch it still needs to cure and harden up further. I could probably stand on mine today without it collapsing.. I would compare the strength of mine to a hard plastic bucket.

@@WhereTheGnomesLive You don't know about Yoda? even with the Mandalorian baby Yoda phenomenon? I'm surprised. Yeah when Luke found Yoda, he was living in a tree stump in a swampy planet. They've got official playsets, and really expensive collectors items, but we could make our own. They make 1:6 scale and 1:12 scale figures
@WhereTheGnomesLive2 жыл бұрын
I know who Yoda is but I never really paid attention to his story or anything. I've been looking at his hut online and I am inspired! I just might have to make one.. thinking about making it on video and then I'd have a x-mas gift for my son. 2 birds, 1 stone. I'll see it if turns into anything.. so many things on the go atm but my brain is on that hut now, lol
@recoveringsoul7552 жыл бұрын
@@WhereTheGnomesLive oh my gosh that would be so awesome!! It's right up your alley. If you can find the 1:6 collectors edition with all the little pots and pans and snakes and food items it would really inspire you. Look for an unboxing or review of one of those. Pretty sure they are limited editions but very detailed. The movie to watch is The Empire Strikes Back where we first meet Yoda. Most people think it's the best in the series.
