Literally just got off the Gunbarrel 25th July with my brother, on 2 SWM RS500R's 😂 personally loved the sections after that 1st 170km of high speed stuff 😅 probably raced that same young Camel 😂

Your episode with the camel reminded me of my first motorcycle crossing back in the 1970's, where in those days the "road" consisted mostly of two wheel tracks only. We came across a mob of camels scrummed down and refusing to move until much horn work had them galloping in the wheel tracks. For nearly 9 kilometres they would not diverge, until we decided that they would run themselves to death if we didn't force them out of the wheel tracks. They had white foam oozing/flying from their mouths when they finally left the tracks and must have been truly knackered. Mate and I were in a military convoy and trialling the motorcycles for use in SAS patrolling. I have always wondered if the Gunbarrel had been crossed on a motorcycle prior to that. We were on an XL175 and and XL350 lent to us from Honda.

Absolutely. I prefer it these days. Keep your own schedule, ride your own pace, enjoy your own company. Only down side I've found is picking the T7 up by yourself. Top work
