Absolutely beautiful! This is the first video after months of looking to figure out how to long self stripe yarn

Christina Babcock so happy to help! This was when I first started so one thing I didn’t know back then was, definitely make sure you exhaust the dye. If you need to dye it twice, that’s okay too. You could also use the other method hand painting it. It’s in the color theory tutorial with roving. I am finishing up part two with the yarn, but you do the same thing. You just have to warp it larger, like in these videos.💕

How do you reskein back to the smaller size?
@ReservoirFibers4 жыл бұрын
usgribbles I use two swifts. Put one end around one and one end around the other and they both spin around as I put it onto my regular sized niddy noddy😉. Super easy!

@@ReservoirFibers that is brilliant!

usgribbles it works so good! Just make sure they are both the same so you have the same height and BAM, works PERFECTLY!! I put one on my desk, then one on my rolling table so I can stretch it out to the size I need and have good tension. Lock the wheels and get to re-skeining. You could even use three if you wanted and wind it back onto the third one but they’re expensive sometimes lol. I grabbed a third plastic and metal one and have been winding onto that instead of the niddy noddy and it sped things up a lot. Next I need a skein winder and it will go even faster lol! Necessity is the mother of invention lol!

@@ReservoirFibers thank you really appreciate it! Can you please advise how much synthropol and citrix acid you use in the presoak for 2 Skeins?
@ReservoirFibers4 жыл бұрын
usgribbles I would use a teaspoon of citric acid and just a dollop of Synthrapol. Probably the same amount. A teaspoon-tablespoon’s worth of it, tops. It really doesn’t take much at all. A little seems to go a long way. The alcohol in it breaks the water membrane and lets the dye penetrate into the fibers better. That’s all you’re going for. Same with the wash at the end. Just a little bit. 💕
