Odd thought: some modelers hurl the term "kit assembler" at those who don't kit bash, add aftermarket components, or scratchbuild parts. This series has demonstrated "kit assembly" at its highest level and has been a joy to watch! Can't wait for the next installment.

I have been accused of being a kit assembler because I like to build Japanese kits box stock. I’d like to show with this series that building box stock is far from easy. I’ve seen so many guys that throw so many aftermarket pieces at a model but leave ejection marks orange peel and horrible stance. Thanks for watching Jason 👍

Tech tip - when doing the backscribing, just let weight of the knife rest on the panel line for the 1st couple of passes- that way your knife won't " skate " off of the line you're trying to enhance, thank you for this tutorial James, I'm really enjoying it and look forward to a new segment

This is a serie that every beginning model builder must see. To start their first kit on the proper way and got a good result at the end. Not start building after the box came in and later have to fix the things that make it now unfixed a not so nice model,into a real nice model. I learned more from video,s like this: The how to do video,s than from the build video,s with the perfect result. But they don,t show like you do, how to get the better result at the end. We all can throw a kit together,but many don,t get results like you show us in your video,s. Thanks a lot for making this relaxing and well explaining video serie James. You put a lot of your time and efford in it to make US build better kits

Thank you so much for the comment. It makes it all worth the effort. I do think that everyone needs to fail a few times trying to do it their own way and then see how someone with more experience does it. I really should call this an intermediate series as I’m using an airbrush, epoxy putty etc. anyways… thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
@janvanrenselaar5998 Жыл бұрын
@@ScaleModelExperiment James maybe intermediate. But that prepwork AND dry fitting is making a huge difference. And that is something when you start,not know. A bit sanding yes,but not like you do on the video. It shows that it is more important as the most will think. At least i did not think about it to much in the beginning. Have a nice weekend.

Doing a great job so far James... I see you found all those mold line's. Did not catch the missing body lines. Thanks! The flash on mine is so bad as I showed in my video. I have not started anything else as I was waiting fro this video. I'm going to work on my car this weekend and finish all the sanding. I have the engine glued together as you do. Hahaha had the same issue with that intake and block and went through the same process. I went with the chrome heads and dual carbs. cutting off the carbs, interesting? Well ok, I will get to hacking... 🤣 Now you got me curious on the front axle setup. 🤔 Thanks for the series and video James... I did decide on a color. 🤫 LLAP 🖖

That’s great that you’re working along with me on this project. I hope others are as well. I’m a little ahead of the videos right now as I shot base coat last night. I reveal the color next episode.as for the front axle, the kit comes with plastic versions of the axle. I’ll cut those short and insert just the ends to the wheels.

@@ScaleModelExperiment Lol, can't follow along until I can see the video... 🤣 I just want to see how your progressing. I figured you ahead of the videos. 😃 Really? I did not notice that! Be right back, (20 minutes Later) I see two parts that look like they could be axles but no where do I see any mention of them or a picture. Odd. Anyway, guess I will fill the block with something, I don't have what you have... Lol Were having fun now!

Hello, I have a question. How did you debond the white glue? Just pry and sand?
@ScaleModelExperiment Жыл бұрын
Even easier than that. Pull the parts apart easily and peel off the white glue. It’s truly a temporary bond that’s good enough for mock-up but would fall apart on a finished model.
