NEITHER....KINGSFORD!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S GREAT. Really thanks for this video. I was always wondering what it took to get one of those engines going. Those trains are HUGE. It must of taken a lot of preparation to get one going. Just for a shipping or transportation organization to meet deadlines, It will have to take a staff to prepare and operate one. And getting everything working in a timely manner.

From a fireman's perspective I have to say I prefer coal fired engines. Just seems to add some life to the footplate, not to mention it can be a hell of a work out depending on the size of your engine

What does it mean to power out a steam locomotive

I think you mean by power out its working the water out of the Saddel. As the Engine cools over night water collects in the cylinder saddel. The Engineer will work the theottle hard for a short time and blow the water out through the Stack and Cylinder Cocks to prevent damaging the cylinder heads.
