Part 3: Transcribing and Digitizing Hatfield's Early Handwritten Documents

This Hatfield Historical Society program, presented by George Vachula, is the final of three parts to help viewers learn or improve their skills in transcribing and digitizing old handwritten documents. Throughout the series, George shows many examples he's transcribed from the collection of the Hatfield Historical Museum. We have many more that need transcribing, though, so we hope some of you will be interested to help us transcribe others. At the end of the program, Meguey Baker, Hatfield Historical Museum (HHM) assistant curator, describes some of the transcription projects available.

This series of programs (six in all), was made possible by a grant from Mass Humanities, with funding through the Mass Cultural Council. Each recorded program, after it takes place, will be added to our KZbin channel. The first three are on transcription, and the last three are about doing genealogy and house research.
