Fun video. The ecclectic ones are sometimes the most entertaining.

And you thought people forgetting crossings was the least of your worries.

No kidding! But I was so lucky that it happened right under the camera's nose. I just stood there watching it happen with a big grin on my face. It's hard to plan these things...

what are te labels on your tracks made out of?
@muchfunwithtrains2 жыл бұрын
I start with small strips of grey colored Evergreen Styrene 0.20 inches thick and then use a "Brother 12mm" battery-powered label-maker, using black on transparent label tape, to make letters and numbers, and stick them to the styrene. Then I glue them to the track using something very removable such as rubber cement or double-sided sticky tape. It's better to do it after applying ballast, in case you decide to relocate or revise a label later. This has happened to me more than once. I've also seen people just use the transparent tape itself directly on the track, without the styrene backing, which has the advantage of not disrupting the realism of the track as much, but the disadvantage of being harder to find when you're in the middle of a switching operation wondering which track is which. The advantage of using grey styrene is that you don't have to paint it, which makes replacing the tape on it easier. And the grey looks enough like a steel plate to be reasonable-looking.

Love this railroad! I just moved to Bellingham and would be interested in meeting up with some of you. I model n scale.

Welcome to the PNW! I model in n scale too, just haven't done many videos about it (yet). But tonight is the monthly "north end clinic" zoom meeting if you want to join and meet some of the modelers in the area. Here's the link that takes you to the info: 4dpnr.com/come-learn-some-new-facts-about-the-up-at-the-seattle-virtual-clinic-thursday-november-3-at-7pm/

Do you know about the Boeing Employees Model Railroad Club swap meet next Saturday (Nov 12)? It's held at the "Kent Commons" and is one of the largest swap meets in the NW each year. See www.bemrrc.com/.
