Yeah, his design just looks really generic. I mean, he looks less like a godzilla villain and feels more like something out of Ben 10. Even his concept designs were ridiculous as they looked like some reject scooby doo villain

Like his volcane brother, Krystalak is an original character created for this game. If Spacegodzilla's crystals could merge together to create a new monster, this would be it. As far as I know, this guy is the only purple-colored monster in Godzilla history, my favorite color, almost Decepticon-colored if you know Transformers. Also like Obsidius, Krystalak has thus far not appeared in movies or any other media to speak of, but maybe someday in the future this crystalline menace will get a chance to shine again.

I'm convinced Krystalak was originally supposed to be Godzilla 1998, but was changed at the last moment. It has the same proportions, and body type, spikes on its back, it's fast, but weak, and it has a breath attack similar to Godzilla Jr's Atomic Breath from the cartoon series.

Nah, one of the devs mentioned how Zilla was initially an early consideration, but due to the amount of backlash people had towards Zilla/Godzilla 1998 and the movie, they went against including him. Krystalak and another original monster were always part of the plan.

Another aftermath idea (once again not stolen from Archer-bro) I’m really just doing these in my favourite Kajiu. Krystalak: much like his brother, Obsidius and his father, SpaceGodzilla, Krystalak was power hungry and wanted to consume as much power as possible. When Krystalak proved to be extremely powerful. His brother was angered and Obsidius ambushed Krystalak in Seattle. But with Krystalak’s new found crystal energy made him easily over come and destroy Obsidius. Obviously, SpaceGodzilla didn’t know that his own children would become just as powerful than him and he too was soon over powered. With Krystalak’s already powerful crystal energy located on his back combined with his fathers energy and the space crystal radiation made him more powerful that anything his father intended. Krystalak quickly took over Earth and shaped it into his liking. He would be known as the most powerful creature in the galaxy.

By the way I have some questions for you. 1. In the last mission, once you knock Mecha-King Ghidorah's health down to nothing, his tails are still moving. Is that supposed to happen, or is it yet another glitch in this game? 2. What do you think of Krystalak from a gameplay standpoint? 3. What do you think of Krystalak and Obsidious as kaiju in and of themselves? Do you think they're good or bad? Or are they in a more middle position for you in which you think they're just okay, but they really look like kaiju from a Rampage game instead of a Godzilla game? 4. Did you like that Obsidious was the kaiju that was voted into the game, or did you want one of the other three kaiju to make it in? 1) MKG's tails moving is intentional. Just like in GSTE, all the monsters here are merely knocked-out, not killed, so they still move even when KO'd permanently. (The Godzillas still breathe, for instance.) 2) I think he's great! A very competent and powerful fighter. Lots of projectile attacks and very swift movements make him a force to be reckoned with. 3) I'm more on the side of "these look like Rampage monsters". They still feel too American, particularly Krystalak's scowl. But I'm just fine with them being Godzilla monsters, and definitely don't hold it against anyone who has them as their faves! 4) Ohhh, I was mad salty when The Visitor didn't make it in! He was #1 for me. I'd still love to see Toho or someone bring back those unused monsters into 3D one day.

To be honest, not really. Battra looks seriously awful in the PS2 version, but it's still Battra... kind of, so I enjoy playing as him. Definitely would've enjoyed seeing him in the Wii version, though.

Yeah, honestly that’s how I feel about both Obsidius and Krystalak. The two just don’t look like monsters that would fit in the Godzilla franchise. I used to wish these guys to be in a godzilla Movie, but that seems unlikely given how generic they are. Obsidius looks more like a Mass effect enemy than a Godzilla one and Krystalak looks more like a metroid enemy.
