I'm glad I did too. Somewhere to call home in BD. Also, had the opportunity to do so, as I know so many can't go back home, let alone build something because of bad relations. Hopefully I can enjoy this place for many years to come and my kids will go with me as they grow..also my mum can go with me as it was her wish.

I've noticed the neighbours are also making improvements to their houses and land. The neighbour to our right has put up a wall and a nice gate. The neighbour opposite to the right has started to build a two storey house 😄. Slowly the neighbourhood will improve. I love that the bazar is literally on the doorstep.

Looks lovely man, I somehow found your videos randomly a couple of months ago and just caught up with the rest. You've managed to a achieve a very good outcome for the budget you stated. Bengali Londoner here too, I decided to build a house back in 2016-2018 for a small plot totalling about 2600 SQ feet over 3 floors but somehow my build ended up costing over 60 lakh and unfortunately during the time the pound crashed because of brexit etc so there were times when I was sending money where 1£ = 97 taka only 😂 I am happy with my end product too but sadly think I overspend with the main contractor swap and mistakes the first one made. I’ve been binge watching all of your videos and it resonates with me so well as I’ve recently visited Bangladesh after nearly 30 years and like you I was a kid in a candy shop. In terms of feedback, I know what you mean about the blue tint but it doesn’t look so bad. I would leave it or change it to the grey like the stripes on the gate. The only thing to be mindful with white is that it’s easier to notice the scuff marks and hand prints, even the cobwebs! In terms of funiture, it’s a tricky one because sourcing them can be quite hard as they’re limited in designs and options, but less is more. I would have real plants around the house than artificial one and I’d definitely tile above the hand wash sink in the dining area to avoid splash marks. Perhaps get some wooden chairs and small table for the balcony to enjoy tea with a view. Already looking forward to Fridays episode!
