A more fun/interesting pad update video is coming soon. I wanted to get this all wrapped up in a video while it was still fresh in my mind.

WARNING: I made an error at 5:00 I should not have used 5V on the Teensy. I should have used the 3V pin. If your microcontroller has a 3V and 5V or only has 3V, you probably should use the 3V pin. Both of my pads are still connected using the 5V pin but according to the data sheet (thanks teejusb) 5V is technically too much and it is not recommended.

Great video and clear, understandable descriptions - thanks for sharing! One comment at 0:32 - I took a look at Sujeet's library and don't believe it compiles for any arduino. I believe this is because the Keyboard library is only supported on devices that have a USB interface on the chip itself. This would be the ATmega32u4 (commonly found on the Pro Micro and Leonardo), but not the common ATmega328P, ATmega1280 or ATmega2560 (found on the UNO, the mini, the mega, and probably some others). I could be confused, so I submitted an issue on the Github page and hopefully that will be clarified.

As a clarification, it compiles for ATmega32U4 and SAMD based Arduino boards as those are the only ones that have USB interfaces and can actually use the Keyboard library to interact with StepMania.

Nice video! That actually does look pretty easy to wire up FSRs!

Great video, I've been meaning to do this to my pads for a while now and this makes it a lot easier to understand as someone who has never used a breadboard or arduino/teensy before. Only question I have is if I am wiring up my pad lights, I'm under the impression I would need a mosfet module for each panels LEDs correct? If so wouldn't that mean you'd need 4 different runs of wire going to a power source? You didn't touch on what you would use for this since you just wired up the one, so I'm curious what you would suggest for powering 2 pads worth of 12v LEDs?

Your assumptions are right. Here is the PSU I use (you might have to ask around to see if it would support the amount of current you'd need for two pads) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019GYOMN6/ In my newer video of this series (maybe part 6?) I show how I'm wiring a button and distributing the 12V to each panel. Or at least the start of it.

Is there any way to save the thresholds for each fsr sensor? When I unplug the teensy 4.0 from pc it doesn't save the thresholds from arduino ide. Help plz?

I may try this on my own, but has anyone adapted this code for a dance pad that uses Velostat instead of FSRs? Seems like the same concept and interface could be used, just different values coming through due to the different type of sensor.

Hello doom! I have followed all the videos in this series! I am from Colombia and I am doing this process! You know how I can configure player 2 with this same system, I can only use one teensy ?, or I need 2, thank you very much! !!

For this system, you'll need two Teensys. If you have Discord, come join here to get help if you get stuck discord.gg/RamvtwuEF2

Thank you so much. I want to get my broken DDR Game pad working, and I've been going off of videos that are 5 - 8 years old. I could use any help I can get. If anyone in the comments would be so kind as to reach out and help me with this project... PLEASE DO. I'm going mad without In The Groove.

If im using a teensy to wire the FSRs does it have to be 4.0?
@domitg

The Teensy 2.0 works too. I think a pro micro also works and can be a lot cheaper.

I did a little test with original hardware and found that if you don't need analog fsr can be connected directly to the sensor input wires and they work
