An H22 header, yes. The OEM header from an F22, no.

Get a prelude transmission. It’s not going to stay in vtec because of the long gears of the Accord. I did this swap and ended up getting a prelude transmission. I wished I had done it to begin with.

I don't think I'll be taking this to the track, but need to the longer gears for highway. I'll keep a lookout for a Prelude transmission if it turns out to be boring.

That or get the prelude transmission shave off the 5th gear CB/CG/CD to fit the prelude transmission. Then mate with a LSD.

Just get hondata and switch the vtech engagement to a kower rpm and aanother good header for the h22 was the highend header

@@randomrebuilds ok last question I am wanting to connect my reverse light how you wire it up can I go from the pig tail wires harness from the auto shifter and wire it straight to the reverse switch on the transmission or how will it be thanks buddy really great videos

I hate to say this but I think you forgot to add the timing plate (correct me if I’m wrong lol). I made that mistake when manual swapping my 93 cb9 haha. Since you’re using the f22 harmonic balancer you don’t have the exterior timing marks. It’ll make timing the distributor MUCH easier with that plate. I never put mine in and had to make my own timing marks with the cam and crank.

What trans did you end up using im saving up now to do a 5 speed swap n im new to the Honda game. I umderstand it all just need to know what trans to swap.

The only Prelude timing plate is from the mid 80s models. Do you have a picture or link?

I could send a pic through email or something. Also for an f22a1 I used an “H2A5” tranny. I’ve heard you can use it with an h22 but the VTEC can be finicky with it. I’ve had mine mated to a non VTEC f22a1 for over a year and have had no issues it’s very minimal wiring too if you’re keeping the engine in the cb7/cb9

I think your really going to like that. I have a t2t4 and it’s great but sucks on the freeway. I love it but I wouldn’t drive it really far. It’s perfect daily commuter

@@cbdreamer1709 Thats the only reason I chose Accord as I knew the Prelude unit would be screaming down the highway which gets annoying. Ideally if you could take the Accord 5th gear and swap into the Prelude unit, that would be perfect - but that requires some machining I've heard.

Yeah. I’m trying to figure that out. I want to use accord final drive with accord main shaft with h23 gears and p2a8 5th. Just have more priorities right now. Someday. I don’t need it right away
