If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

The friction drive is a real pain to remove with the engine in the car. I have found a small 10mm ratchet spanner works best. It better to remove the engine mounts so that you can raise and lower the engine on a trolly jack to gain access to the bots .

Hi, I want to change the water pump friction wheel tensioner on my wife's 207 1.6 vti with 120 hp engine code 5fw or ep6, it looks the same like this engine, but the online car parts store got me confused, offering 2 kind from this tensioner, 1 like in the video a mechanical and an other with some 2 pin connector for some sensor I guess. How can I find out which is the right one without taking the car apart?

This is a great video thank you!! Question. My drive belt snapped on Friday on my THP270. Myself and the tow truck driver obviously knew nothing of this engine, but we could start it and drive it onto the tow truck bed, but there was a tapping noise and burning small. I couldn’t figure out what a snapped belt might have broken. Could that be the coolant pump drive friction wheel tapping against the crank pulley?
@CoatsandGaiters
@CoatsandGaiters 9 ай бұрын
Might have been the idler pulley between the coolant pulley and the crank.

Make sure to change the oil every 6,000 miles in those engines and be gentle with them. Part 15 in this series will stress you lol @@jtonline99

Update: Looks like the A/C seized. Mechanic who changed the belt, found melted rubber on the A/C pulley 🤦🏽‍♂️ engine runs and A/C pulley spins fine with the new belt but the A/C doesn’t work. New trip to service dept planned next week 😂

Hello, You are obviously well familiar with this engine setup and how things work and reliability issues. Can i ask for your opinion as im thinking of purchasing a Peugeot 208 gti 2015, it has 85.000 miles on the clock and i know very little about this engine? I have heard many bad comments about it for example "stay away from it" "They are very unreliable" etc etc. What is your opinion as you obviously know a fair bit about them, anything you can advise would be appreciated. Thank You

They do have a terrible reputation but I think they did improve things over the years. Personally I think the engine have very little allowance for lack of maintenance. Id have changed the oil every 6,000 miles and never ever let it drop as theres not much in there. I'd drive it very sympathetically and maybe they are ok so really It's probably more a case of how well has it been maintained and how you look after it if it is a good one. So many things must now all work perfectly together to achieve reliability and if any one thing has been neglected it can have a chain reaction to the rest. Not like the old days when as long as it got petrol and had some old oil in it would still plod along for miles.
