I'm a former college basketball player who played in Grambling's conference and also played a lot of "money games" against top 25 schools full of future NBA players before conference play started. Our coach created a gameplan, wanted us to compete, we all knew we were going to lose, but nobody outright said it like the fictional Grambling coach in this series. We tried the best we could to make a big play so we could get pics to post on social media, get on Sportscenter, or to be able to say that you played against an future NBA player and held your own for the rest of your life when you talk to people about playing in college.

Hey, every now and then, upsets happen, especially in college basketball. I am from VA, so I remember a few years ago when UMBC beat UVA, becoming the 1st 16 seed to beat a 1 seed. Plus, I heard about Chaminade beating UVA back in 1982, which is considered one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history.

@dukesoffluke1381 Yes, I believe Norfolk State and Hampton were able to pull off upsets as 15 seeds. You can never sleep on HBCUs, and some have produced Hall of Famers. Grambling has actually produced 4 NFL Hall of Famers and 1 NBA Hall of Famer. They just do not get as good of recruits as they used to because schools are not segregated anymore.
