I am a closet 80’s cars fan but what brings me to your channel is not just the fiero but the production value of what you put out. Videos are really nicely made (calm music in the background, fast motion when needed, nice transition between scenes, nice introductions/conclusions, etc.). Others you tubers could learn from this. It shows you are in media industry (at least, I think you are). Sure it is homemade but excellent given you don’t have a crew behind you (except your wife or friend once in a while). And one more thing: your delivery is exceptional. Your voice is smoothing, explanations are clear- it is just so relaxing watching and listening to you - with the music in the background. You remind me, in your voice calmness, of corvetteben. Anyhow, love the work, love the person, and love the quality. I’ll keep watching for sure. Can’t wait until the Fiero is painted. And the good thing with old cars is that there is always content as there is always something to fix! Congrats.

Sooo many memories of my gold 1986 SE 2M6. A cheap upgrade that made my engine bay pop was replacing the spark plug wires with a color other than black; I chose yellow and it really complemented the red. Love your videos of the restoration and looking forward to seeing how paint turns out.

I really enjoy watching someone restore/revive a long forgotten car. The V-6 Fiero was the most desirable option, however, a V-8 is definitely the way to go in today’s Cars-n-Coffee circles. With the availability of kits and factory engine/transmission options, along with some dashboard/interior swaps, you can create a very personal Fiero that would give you years of enjoyment. It’s easy to tell that the Fiero you have is dear to your heart, most likely reminiscent of one from your youth. But when you find yourself wanting more from that car, remember that you’re not alone, and that others before you have paved the way to what you crave. Type in V-8 Fiero, here on KZbin (Welditrick), and you’ll see what you’re missing. Keep up the good work, you’re doing just fine!

I know it’s more work but removing that intake manifold looks like the solution. I used to have a Chevy van. I learned pretty quick that you spend most of your time taking off stuff to get to what you are working on.
@fiero8804 жыл бұрын
If I could have removed the dog bone bracket that bolts to the block, that was the main issue. The intake didn't get in the way too much.

@@onixfieroandscalemodelworks oh sure, It can be done. I just like my knuckles in one peice, lol. I have large hands, and find it hard to get in tight spaces. Had a fiat x19, same problem, really tight engine bay. But, if it saves money and you like it, go for it. They are really fun to drive, and I loved the exhaust note, even from a GM v6!

Lol!!! its been awhile since I have done this much work. Sometime with gloves and sometime not. I had to do the repairs myself for $$$ reasons. I would have already spent thousands just on labor work. Heck I already done that with all the parts I have bought.

Never complain about a 45-min video. I love watching your Fiero project and would hate to see a 5 or 10 minute video of you working on your Fiero. I love the crisp Video and looking forward seeing your car completed. The ONLY complaint I have is, in your next video could you please remove the soft background music? If you must have music, maybe just have it play during the FWD speed up moments like when your washing the valve cover then have it off when your working and talking. Even though it's low it is still annoying. Thanks for the great Fiero Repair videos!

How is the valve cover on the other side? I’ve done this job many times and it really is easier just to remove the intake.
@fiero8804 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell it isn't leaking yet. The original plan is after paint I would have a local pontiac restoration shop replace the main seal and while the engine was out take care of the valve cover gaskets as well. But the rear cover was leaking pretty bad so I tried taking that chance without doing the intake.
@johng52844 жыл бұрын

It looks to me like with your pain issues is that you're putting your coats on toothache because you're in a hurry to get it done. Don't get so close and just put light coats on at a time

Hopefully from using that die grinder on the head and all the debris going into the vale train don’t mess your engine up. Should be using a gasket scraper

debris going into the valve train ?? lol You did see the area when I took the cover off right ? !!! I think it was cleaner after I used the die grinder.

That paint won’t last. Model paint isn’t designed for high heat use. You would’ve been better off using paint stripper and high heat engine paint. I’m really enjoying watching your videos

Found a nice video on another Fiero owner who restored his to showroom condition. There were some cool dealer installed side scoops available back then. Obviously tough to find now, but you may want to look for them. Next, the crosslace wheels on your car had the option of being painted black or with the optional gold center. Since your car is about to be repainted gold, I'm thinking that the rim centers could be painted to match. It would be a cool, period correct look. See what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/laSWo2yLirRgiq8
