I had to watch that part a couple times - I think they read it as "no guessing on capacity needs [when using AWS]" is NOT an advantage - as in you're not allowed to guess, which is clearly not the case. I took and passed my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner test last night. Thank you Cloud Guru. I watched all 10 videos twice if not three times and I looked up and read the FAQ's from the AWS sites on the services etc. The test didn't have the exact questions and the teaser answers were a little more "technical" than expected but by breaking down each answer and knowing the technology from the FAQs I passed. AWS shield is used for DDOS Attack AWS Shield is free but the Advance version is not. Also advance feature provide security to EC2, ELB,CloudFront,Global Accelerator and Route 53. where as WAf is for blocking common web exploits like SQL injection and cross site scripting. it provides security to Gateway API, cloud Front, App. load balancer and AppSync. So the answer should be EC2 and CloudFront.

Yep It means that the instance will only perform 24 hours a year. Thats on-demand. Reserved instances you will choose a plan (1 year - 3 years) that you can run them non-stop within the time option you choose.

No, DDos protection is there in WAF but at application layer, OSI layer 7. In shield it is at layers 3&4. EC2 doesn't have DDOs protection. If configured,SG can block and ALB have health checks which can potentially protect DDos
