China's foreign policy suggests two general approaches: assimilation and techno-industrial investment. In contrast of Russia that was an empire in 19-20 centuries, China considers itself as victim of the period of colonialism and try to become a leader of global south. That's why Russia's invasion to Ukraine for China is a very dubious war whereas the policy of reintegration with Tajwan is a policy of overcoming the trauma of colonialism. Anyway China's global policy directed to overcome injustice of postcolonial world. It's an interesting USA also was a colony and support others nations in their struggle for freedom.
