One of my favourite things about Darren's music (other than the music itself, he really is brilliant) is that when he covers a song he doesn't change the gendered words. I wish more people were confident enough to do that. I've got no problem with singing the male parts of songs, they're usually more in my range anyways!

Darren Criss is so unbelievably talented. His guitar playing is amazing and his voice is so nice. I love how instead of focusing on things like vibrato in his singing, he puts emotion and feeling into his singing. It's great that he's starting to get the recognition he deserves for his immense talent.

Can I just say how fucking talented he is? I'm learning his version of this song on the guitar and it's so fun, but you can only get so far by strumming along to the video. Watch his hands. He's throwing little grace notes in. He's strumming 32nd notes. He's doing little bass runs WHILE STRUMMING WITH A PICK, and not to mention the muting, and the key change and the little riff at the end... If I ever get half as good as him, I'll be completely satisfied with my life.

I can never watch one of these videos without crying because I'm so proud. Nearly 5 years later and he's a regular on one of the most popular TV shows in the world, signed to Sony Records and is 3rd Sexiest Man Alive according to the 2011 People's Magazine. You know how some male singers will change the gender of the character in a song to match their own? I HATE it when they do that. Going back and watching these videos makes me remember that Darren is a human. I don't know how it's possible, but he is. I honestly believe that there isn't another human being out there that deserves fame more than he does, because he didn't become some snotty rich guy.
