imagine Randy, Stevie , Jimmy, and Dime, all jamming together, all those techniques together, what a sound that would be, and you can't forget the for fathers Holly, and Valens, who knows what they would have become if they weren't taken from us, Riip to all of them who inspired a generation...

Brian May's guitar (which he built) has a phase switch so it's not impossible to think of that when you have two ways of wiring something. Brian's also had on/off for each of his 3 pickups and vol for each (I think). That strat would be worth a lot of $ even if Randy had not played it. '57 strats... I hear they are in high demand.
@wadeguidry66755 жыл бұрын
Yeah, my current strat has phase switching. There's like a mile of wiring packed into the body cavity, and it sounds awesome out of phase.

I've noticed over the years that a large percentage of the people who rise to the top of their profession are first class, number 1 A-Holes. I think this is why Tracii Guns didn't become as well known as his contemporaries. You have to have a certain ruthlessness that he doesn't have. Met him briefly once. A very down to earth, laid back dude.

I remember that yellow Opal GT... I was friends with Kevin back in the Starwood days and had also met Randy several times ( great guy ) ... One night after taking Qualudes ( at the age of 14 ) at the Wood , Kevin actually gave me a ride home as we lived close to each other... He actually had to pull over on Laurel Cyn so I could throw up... and I got some on the door of his car...I’ll never forget him saying “It happens to the best of us“... A lot of people knew Kevin as a big asshole, he was just wired like that... but if u knew him well, u also knew he was a good person...I totally remember seeing that brown Strat too... My band “Jail Bait” used to rehearse at Visions where Quiet Riot did as well... and I’m pretty sure I saw that guitar hanging around the studio at one point.. Great times ! I’m also good friends with Keli Garni.. I briefly worked with him in the Tomirea band out here in Vegas

Haha, yes, i have similiar stories but i was out of Atlanta where there was a bunch of southern rock bands emerging at that time, i was friends with ppl from alot of bands who where based out of the warehouse where it was a huge place where bands would rent practice space and they had a big stage that every weekend would have either one of the rented bands play or bigger name band play and then you could wonder around and meet other band at their rented spaces, i can't tell you how many famous ppl i jammed with or met at that time, you had to go through a security checkpoint and only someone that was on the list could enter if that says anything. Then after we would go to the clubs and they would let us in the back entrances avoiding the velvet rope lines in front, and as long as you dressed to the nines or had two hotties on each arm they let you in, if you were with the right ppl, my company included black crowes, Atlanta rhythm section, and members of the now trucks and tedeschi back then col bruce Hampton and the scores of off shoot bands that were in that regional scene

I thought that I did not care for Kevin when he first became known beyond the LA scene but after catching a show and hearing some interviews I could tell he was good at what he did and very intelligent like so many musicians that have a certain image or persona. B. The guitar is almost 40 years older now, I am sure he or someone else has picked it up and played it since the picture was taken at least in between the mid 70s and 82 before we knew we would lose Randy, C. His stories and timeline match up to known stories of Randy. This guy has some great memories and I am glad to hear of some new Randy Rhoads stories. I am really happy that I got to see a video like this this. In my opinion the guy seems to be completely truthful.

I'll bet he also appreciates Peter Green's musicianship. BTW There have been several great guitarists who have came from Northern Ireland such as Gary Moore and Eric Bell ( both Thin Lizzy) , Viv Campbell ( Dio and Def Leppard) , Pat McManus ( Mama's Boys) and Henry McCullough ( Wings and Woodstock legend) and then, of course) there is Donegal born Rory Gallagher. Plenty of talent coming from such a small region .
@dwspazz12457 жыл бұрын
Pat McManus.....great guitarist????????? I guess its true..... your all fucking crazy now! Great has a definition and, no offense (well maybe a little), Mama's Boys' guitarist is not a GREAT guitarist. I guess he would be considered "a" guitarist since he was in an MTV video covering a song that Quiet Riot covered too. Maybe I missed his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or the McManus edition of some budget guitar they sell at Walmart. Randy Rhoads is a GREAT guitarist. Sorry, but Pat McManus is not in his league. I'm sure Pat would be the first to tell you that. Finally, a lot of terrorists came from that "small region" and I'm sure you are not taking credit for their accomplishments. PS..... Who the fuck is Eric Bell? Oh....apparently another GREAT guitarist. Just because you are in a band doesn't make you a great guitarist. Take Tracii Guns for example. No person, living or dead, ever claimed he was a "GREAT" guitarist, except maybe Tracii himself. But then again he thinks somehow he was part of and/or responsible for Guns and Roses success. Oh wait, LA Guns sold more albums than G&R and recently got back together for a world tour for which he was paid millions of dollars......NOT! Tracii makes Axl's version of G&R look successful. Tracii should have stayed on the heroin and died a noble death by overdose. Tracii with two "i's" - what a fucking loser.
