This is such an incredible story! I love the characters, the setting, the action, and the thoughtfulness. Additionally, the VA; Fortin, has done an excellent job here. The different voices really perfected the performance. I especially liked the posh voice for the Ghostly Knight.

Thank you for the upload. I’m just hoping that you are going to add the rest of the series

Thank you. That will depend on the viability of the audiobooks. If/when I reach 1000 subs, I can monetise on KZbin. And if that works out, I will publish the rest of the series here.

I'm glad you liked it! Book 2 is available on Authors Direct: shop.authors-direct.com/products/blood-cartel If I get 1000 subs, and I get monetised, and monetisation proves profitable, I will upload the entire series to YT.

Well, I like your world building, it is similar to something I have theory jerked with friends. I like your character, she has issues and flaws and is not a perfect weapon. I like your solution for a mentor. Neither Giles nor a spirit of air trapped in a skull. I guess I will buy book 2. You are lucky I already have an audible account.

Was NOT expecting to find a book set in my own country, but its a pleasant surprise. Even if the reader says "Ghoul" weird.... like..."Gjul" ..what up with that?
@nwoodesmith Жыл бұрын
This is more apparent in the written version. Kat is facing a "gül" in the beginning, not to be confused with a ghoul. A ghoul is a vampiric servant, while a gül is a type of feral undead.

For future reference: Plate, mail, or plate and mail. A small thing, but it catches.
@nwoodesmith Жыл бұрын
Thank you! D&D, fantasy and gaming has lied to me for an age. They refer to plate mail as a thing. Elder Scrolls, D&D, Oblivion. And they're all wrong! Embarrassing thing? I actually knew they were wrong. I just didn't consciously realise it.

2:47:33 Little girl, the difference in making a deal with me, as opposed to a human slime ball, is that i adhere to the agreement. I insist on fulfilling every term you put on the contract, before i get paid. I have honour! Humans .. to them honour is merely a word, not the marrow of their bones.

Love the world building, the dialog and character interactions are great, and the action scenes read very fluidly. It just gets a little tiring, to see the protagonist make incredibly dumb decisions to advance the plot. The ice cream factory incursion? C’mon. There’s obsessive behavior, and then there’s “I know my physically superior enemies outnumber me hundreds to one, because I *had the opportunity to count them* , but nah, it’ll be fine.” The author of the Anita Blake series was prone to these kind of tactical blunders-to-make-plot-happen (even when the blunders lacked a shred of verisimilitude) early in the series. You might want to take a look at her work from say, Book 6 or 7 onward. (Around the time the Edward character started making more extensive appearances). Examining the manner Hamilton used the character could provide some insight as to how to increase a protagonist’s *practical result* tactical acumen, prior to the point you narratively want to reduce the failings of your protagonist that otherwise have the effect of the protagonist blundering. Hope your writing efforts continue to prosper! It’s obvious, the work you put into your writing. :)

2:16:15 Ignorance, will only get you so far. Decay is order! It is not evil, it is part of life. Things rot, turn to other things , that feed new life. All life feeds on death, just as death feeds on life. Two sides of the same coin, both in the palm of order. Chaos is creation, unfettered, mindless creation, just to see what happens. It creates , but it has no permanence. Anything chaos does is transitory,it destroys what it made, to make something new. Both are extremes, but law will make your life a long protracted misery, before it chokes you to death. Chaos ca kill you on a whim, but it 'll be fast. Torture is for order.

Hi there! You can find Blood Cartel on Audible, Google Play, Authors Direct, Audiobooks.com and many other sites. I'm also setting up a direct distribution system for my audiobooks that will be the cheapest method of purchasing them by far once its setup. If you prefer ebooks, all my books are on Amazon.

I made until the 3:16 mark...Can't finish. First, the story takes place in South Africa and doesn't have any native major characters. Secondly, the most powerful magical groups are all Viking or European. If I've missed something, let me know.

So in this narration, the ghost in her head is English, but in the other audiobooks, he’s Scottish? Which one is he actually supposed to be? Imo the English accent works much better.

Treth comes from a realm inspired by Arthurian legend, so any British Isle accent is applicable for him. Up to reader, and narrator, interpretation.

Killing another human, is not a bad thing. No matter what you have been taught, killing another comes naturally. One on one or in small groups, in defence of territory, of food, of home, it is natural. First time its always hard, but it gets easier.
