Thanks Alan for your very detailed videos. I have a 2007 Sabre and the set up is pretty much the same. I don't think i need to take my engine completely out due to a leaky front valve cover but your videos really helped a lot.

I’m about to tackle this myself, unfortunately the only way to access the valve covers is dropping the engine. Gonna be fixing this exact problem now in January

thanks Allan for the video..I have just learnt that my 2000VT1100 Sabre has a burnt rear valve, and the price to fix it is the price of the bike, so I looking to do it myself. I might just buy a used head with valves attached so it is a straight swap...I am sort of new at this, helped others but never did it myself..cant be to bad..I will check your other video about dismantling the engine..couldnt have done it without you,,thanks

incredible bro. this makes pulling the carbs a walk in the park..... replacing the water pump book says to remove the engine....can an 1100 run ok without water?......rumors say you can.

I would not recommend running the bike without a water pump. I know a guy who had a hose blow out on a Kawasaki Concours who then overheated the bike and ruined the motor; however, he rode the bike 200 miles before it stopped completely. Thank you for watching.

Hi, thanks for the video. My 1988 Vt1100 Clymer manual says to remove the alternator cover and shift spindle. Do you think this is necessary since you didnt do this?
@MrAamstrom Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching. Indeed, you do not have to remove the alternator cover or spindle to remove the engine.

Thanks for the video but what you didn't show was how to disconnect the final drive from the motor. So how is that done???

The driveshaft slides off the rear of the motor. In part one of the motor installation, I show the driveshaft being slid back on the splines.
