The Parthasarathy Temple is an Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to the god Krishna, located at Triplicane, Chennai, close to marina beach,India.
Vaikunda Akadasi festival is celebrated here in this month. Vaikunda vasal /Paramapada vasal is opens on 31.12.2023 . First 10 days is called Ra pathu and opens from evening 4.00pm to night 10.30 pm. And next 10 days is called Pagal pathu and paramapada vasal opens from morning 9.0 am and opens till night 10.30 pm.
One of the special feature is the presiding deity Venkatakrishnar is with moustache. We can get darisanam of venkatakrishna without moustache only on vaikunda Aegadasi festival, pagal pathu 6th day to 10th day only. Perumal acted as the driver for Parthan/ Arjunan, coz of which he is named as Parthasarathy. That's the reason that he has a mustache.
The temple has icons of five forms of Vishnu: Yoga Narasimha, Rama, Gajendra Varadaraja, Ranganatha, and Krishna as Parthasarathy. The temple is one of the oldest structures in Chennai.
