I feel this film should have been made with a much bigger investment to have realised the worth of the story and the amount of work by the team .Somewhere Director Parthiban had some fear of audience response for the movie about making the investment it deserved actually .Touching story line and great team work which made us to watch the movie and into the story without realizing the movie has been taken as a single shot non-linear movie and its technical aspects which was screened before the movie starts.

Rajini sir, though a conductor became star through hardwork and love for fans. But, Parthiban was doing only gimmick work, not hardwork from first film. He can't blame Rajini or vijay or Ajith for becoming successful.In his 30 yrs experience, if he had done hardwork instead of modi masthan work, he would have also become successful.Pudiya Paadai was very old story of girl marrying raped guy and tryinv to make him gud but he marketed it to people as though it is a very new story.

Thanks for asking about that uncomfortable rape joke scene . It was written in the movie as some kind of joke (audience laughed in that scene) . I understand the negative shade of the character but that rape joke could have been avoided . Also about the film technically good attempt but as a film I didn't find it great .

54:58, the protagonist is a man with full of flaws ( with lot of negative shades, including committing homicide) why is this argument, he is being shown with lot of deficiencies and he has already committed a murder, is Sudheer Ok with justifying him killing the woman, common grow up guys, the rape dialogue is coming from a man who is portrayed almost fully a man with flaws and with no education and limited sensitivity towards women other than Chilakamma (mostly circumstantial) it is in not anyways justifying rape. A bad guy who has been a murderer, boasts about having had sex with woman who had cheated him in past, is being shown in the perspective of a negative character that's all

Accepted about his character arc but the scene where he comments about rape in a funny tone (audience literally laughed in that scene , I felt uncomfortable) is problematic . He could have written that scene in a serious tone . Rape is not joke . You can never justify it .

@@Karthik-mw8kn agree with your view point. Not sure him ( the character with negative shade) saying that justifies it. If cinema fans are reacting to it as a funny scene its not in good taste, perhaps some momentary mind set like how few enjoy Ajith/Vijay trashing 15 people at a time. Personally it didn't go well for me, but I didn't feel it was justifying Rape. Sandhanam ( Vijay Sethupathi) constantly keeps taking this illegal substance in Vikram this doesnt necessarily means Lokesh is justifying it, people in the audience were going gaaga every time he bit blue pill and showing his maniac behavior. Its hard to understand the expression of audience in the theater based on a performance they witness at that moment, for all most of those same audience will outrightly dismiss this in reality (that's just cinema). People express their voice always saying these movies promote things that's not good for the society.

I'll not fall for this guys cheap gimmicky stuffs and in my opinion he's a below average director with outdated ideas & sense of humor. What's shocking is his attitude & thoughts. Let alone, the cough syrup matter. He recently apologized for Brigidas controversial speech, but here he says he's angry for apologizing. Then why ask sorry, dude. Such an hypocritical person. In another interview, he says he doubted his servant maid for a jewelry theft and casually says police aren't beating such people nowadays for community reason...sigh

The movie 1917 linear one shot movie was fantastic! Real time Drama is also one shot so to speak .. so one shot movies per se are not mind blowing in my opinion.
