I am taking an elective course right now from the Operations Research department as part of the master's program in data analytics engineering I am enrolled in at George Mason University called "OR 568 - Applied Predictive Analytics" and this video explained MUCH more clearly what PLS regression does and more specifically, why it is different, but can sometimes serve as a substitute for PCR (principal component analysis, then running a regression with those components as your regressors) than our textbook, lecture slides, and pre-recorded lecture videos did.

What do you mean by "latent structures"?

Hi Great Video!, In PLS when generating CP2 does it have an orthogonal restraint, similarly to PCA?, If so is the constraint on u1( the output data (Y) ) or on t1 (the input data (X)?

Im not sure if SPSS has these other results

t1:u1 which is the line that best describes the variation in y (correct me if I'm wrong--rephrasing from video), but what is t2?

you are not telling PLS you are telling how it is used or what it does
